Funimation app

A few days ago, Funimation teased a new app for Switch. The news has now been officially announced with a release happening tomorrow.

The app will be offered in United States and Canada, with the United Kingdom, Ireland, Mexico, and other countries on the way. It will feature new curations, a “My Anime” page, anime launch schedule, and more.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics

Limited Run Games has announced that it will be producing a physical release for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics. Alongside standard copies, fans will be able to purchase a collector’s edition.

Frog Vibes has announced that Here Comes Niko!, its upcoming 3D platformer, is coming to Switch. A Hat in Time developer Gears from Breakfast will be publishing.

Pokemon GO Holiday 2020

Pokemon GO is celebrating the holidays with a new event for 2020. Players can expect costumed Pokemon, an Ice-type Pokemon, event-exclusive Field Research, winter-themed avatar items, and plenty of bonuses.

Burger King toys

Update (12/14): Hungry Jack’s Australia has a similar promotion going (thanks Justin). We’re also hearing that these toys may come to the United States in February 2021, though there has not been an official announcement just yet.


Original (12/13): In Germany and Austria, Burger King has teamed up with Nintendo for a new promotion. The fast food restaurant is now giving out a Nintendo toy with King Jr. Meals. Animal Crossing, Zelda, Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Maker, Mario Kart, and Splatoon are the featured games.

Original (12/13): This week’s UK software sales are in, and there are a couple of interesting Nintendo-related tidbits.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has seen its sales increase every week for more than a month. This week, the game went up 8 percent. It is expected to finish 2020 as the second biggest boxed game.

Immortals Fenyx Rising fell from #11 to #17. However, sales only decreased by 45 percent week-on-week. The Switch version also sold the best this past week, and that Switch edition is now the most popular version overall.

The Hong Kong Massacre

After it was announced back in September, Hong Kong Massacre has been dated for Switch. The fast-faced, top-down shooter is scheduled for December 26.

Olija

It was recently announced that Olija will launch in early 2021. We now have an actual date, as the game has appeared on the eShop. The store page indicates that Olija is planned for a January 28, 2021 release.
