Super Mario Odyssey director says there’s a purpose behind having Mario in New Donk City’s realistic environment
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 30 Comments
The very first thing we ever saw from Super Mario Odyssey was New Donk City. And it’s no ordinary city: Mario is running and jumping around with realistic people around him.
The concept of New Donk City may seem strange for a Mario title, but there was a purpose behind it. Director Kenta Motokura explained to Game Informer this month why it made sense for players to be interacting with a more realistic city.

[Let’s Talk] Any interest in Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon?
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Let's Talk | 97 Comments
In a month from now, two new Pokemon games will be on 3DS. Of course, we’re referring to Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon.
From the minute these titles were announced, they underwent quite a bit of scrutiny. Fans were hoping that new Pokemon games would be announced for Switch, but instead, they were revealed for 3DS. Making matters somewhat worse is that they’re new versions of last year’s Sun/Moon. It took some time to really understand what makes Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon different from the 2016 games. It really wasn’t until the past couple of months – these last few weeks in particular – that some of the new elements have been highlighted.
So how many of you have interest in Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon (or not at all)? Have you moved on from 3DS to Switch at this point? Or do you intend to fire up the handheld next month for the new games? Let us know in the comments below.
Highlights from last week’s topic: What are you playing? – October 2017

Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 6 Comments
Game Freak shared a new aspect of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon in an interview with Eurogamer Portugal. We have a bit of news about Mantine Surf.
Director Kazumasa Iwao stated that points earned from Mantine Surf can be used to get items and have Move Tutors teach your Pokemon moves that they couldn’t learn in last year’s games. It’s similar to other enhanced versions, sequels, and remakes of Pokemon games. However, it’s not yet known if points can be obtained through other methods or if the points are Battle Points.
