Zordix and Bigben are partnering on a pair of games for Switch. Aqua Moto Racing Utopia and Snow Moto Racing Freedom will be on the system in November, the two companies have announced.
Aqua Moto Racing Utopia was originally announced for Wii U. When we last spoke to Zordix a couple of months ago, it was still in development for the older system.
Aqua Moto Racing Utopia and Snow Moto Racing Freedom will feature “content identical to the already-released PlayStation 4 and PC versions” and will “take full advantage” of Switch’s multiplayer features. You’ll be able to play with up to three friends in local split-screen multiplayer, with up to seven players locally with everyone using their own console. Online play will also be supported.

NBA Playgrounds has been a hit for developer Saber Interactive. Since launch, the basketball game has sold more than 500,000 units across all platforms. A specific breakdown of platform sales were not mentioned, though it has done very well on the eShop charts.
Saber CEO Matt Karch said in a statement:
“NBA Playgrounds has been a labor of love for us at Saber, so it’s hugely gratifying to see the game strike a chord. Its success has paved the way for us to consider creating other arcade-style sports titles. We’ve worked tirelessly since release to refine the game and deliver the free content we promised, and we’re going to keep supporting it. I want to thank the community for their ongoing feedback, specifically players on Switch, who had to wait so long for the full experience they deserve.”
Saber has another update in the works for NBA Playgrounds. As mentioned earlier today, it will add 33 new players including current stars such as J.R. Smith and Chris Paul, dominators from recent eras like Baron Davis and Tim Duncan, old-school legends Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, and even some modern-day sports gaming YouTubers like Agent 00 and Shake4ndBake. Additionally, packs will be better balanced to reduce the number of duplicates players open. A three-point contest mode with online play will be added in as well, along with a new rebounding system and fully functional friend invites to matches.

This month’s issue of EDGE has a cover dedicated to Super Mario Odyssey. There really isn’t a whole lot new about the game itself, but the magazine does have a few choice words from Nintendo EPD’s general producer Yoshiaki Koizumi.
One of the topics Koizumi commented on was Switch’s success. Regarding the console’s performance thus far, Koizumi said:
“It’s half expected and half surprising. I always feel a certain amount of confidence in my work, and I imagine a lot of different scenarios. The one that’s come to fruition was one of the better ones I was imagining! We wanted people to have more time to play games.”

Fan-made program helps create drawings in Splatoon 2

Miiverse doesn’t exist on Switch. However, that hasn’t stopped Splatoon 2 players from coming up with some creative drawings. The game has its own built-in feature so that all sorts of images can be created and shared with others.
ShinyQuagsire23 has gone out of his way to develop a program that brings the more complicated drawings to life. The Pokken Tournament controller is used to enter in the correct sequence of movements and button presses needed to make the drawing. You can sort of think of it as a tool-assisted run. In general, drawings take roughly an hour to complete.
Here’s a look at the program in action:
