Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 11 Comments
Konami is bringing two new games to the North American Wii U Virtual Console this week. According to Nintendo’s website, Dungeon Explorer and Neutopia are arriving tomorrow.
Dungeon Explorer’s overview is as follows:
“Dungeon Explorer is a multiplayer Action/RPG where up to 5 players can play at the same time. You can choose from 8 different character types: Fighter, Thief, Warlock, Witch, Bishop, Elf, Bard, or Knome. Depending on the character, the types of magic you can use, your attack strength, and your movement will all vary. To survive, you most know all about your enemies’ weaknesses. You must also know about the special attributes of each magic spell and use them to your greatest advantage. In team-play games, working together is the key to victory.”
And Neutopia’s description:
“In this action role-playing game, you take control of a brave boy who sets off on a journey to rescue the kidnapped princess and reclaim the 8 medallions that were stolen by the evil demon, Dirth. You’ll need to rely on your magic compass and information you’ve gathered to find entrances to labyrinths and defeat the bosses in them. Solve puzzles, avoid traps, move blocks, and destroy walls to uncover secret rooms in the labyrinths. Carefully use your map to uncover hidden treasure and powerful equipment. Travel the land, underground, sea, and sky on your quest to recover the medallions.”
Dungeon Explorer and Neutopia will each cost $5.99.

MonoGame software is compatible with Switch
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 2 Comments
MonoGame, a tool developers use to bring Windows games to other platforms, is officially compatible with Switch. TowerFall, Celeste, and Stardew Valley are all making use of the software.
The official MonoGame Twitter account shared the news:
MonoGame is coming to Switch!! First titles will be @MattThorson's Tower Fall, Celeste & @ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley with multi-player!! https://t.co/XI7OgcOkoO
— MonoGame (@MonoGameTeam) March 1, 2017
Wii U’s lack of compatibility with MonoGame hurt the console somewhat. Axiom Verge’s developer struggled to get the game running on Nintendo’s old console, which required an outside team to be brought in and handle the port.

FAST RMX file size, surround sound, touch controls in menu
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 30 Comments
Another file size is in for a Switch eShop game. FAST RMX, Shin’en’s racer, will be 900 MB.
Other information from Shin’en is below:
File Size
As always we used all tricks to keep the file size super small without sacrificing any quality.
The file size of FAST RMX will therefore only be ~900 Megabytes! So anyone can download it really ‘FAST’ to their internal memory.Despite the small size the game is full packed of content, with an overview below:
– 10 Cups
– 15 Vehicles
– 30 Individual tracks
– 47 Audio TracksSurround Sound
When playing in console mode on a 5.1 surround set you can hear other drivers coming from behind or passing by. Of course also most other actions have 3D sounds associated.
When playing in handheld mode we down-mix to stereo but still have 3D information processed (distance, panning, doppler effect..)
Touch Screen
All buttons in the menus can also be operated by touch! This makes it a breeze to select any items when playing in handheld mode.
