Metroid: Other M is slated for the North American Wii U eShop tomorrow, Nintendo’s website reveals. It will be available as a Wii download.

The listing has the following overview:

“Join Samus for an action-packed space adventure that takes the best elements of 1st-person and 3rd-person gaming to create a seamless blend between gameplay, story-telling and cinematography. Players hold the Wii Remote controller sideways while navigating and battling in 3rd-person. However, at any moment, players can switch immediately to Wii Remote pointer controls to examine and explore the environments in 1st-person perspective.”

Pricing for Metroid: Other M is set at $19.99.

Famitsu has a massive feature on Monster Hunter XX this week. The magazine’s latest coverage spans ten pages.

First, we have some information about some of the monsters. Details are as follows:

– Deviant Diablos: changes color when in Rage state, and will also have new moves during that, like jumping, burrowing, and thrusting from the ground.
– Deviant Glavenus is Hellblade which also already appeared in Generations; has a sword-like tail that also has high heat
– Deviant Gammoth: has a hardened body after living in harsh environments for a very long time; said to be the cause of blizzards and avalanches in cold areas
– Deviant Mizutsune: can launch blue bubbles which seem to be more powerful than Mizutsune’s ordinary bubbles
– Deviant Astalos: normally shrouded in green electricity, but during battle that may change color to blue
– Congalala: can release gas that causes inflicted hunters to be unable to use some items; can also perform a breath attack that will change elements depending on the food it ate beforehand, such as becoming fire or poison

Update: The restock has now been confirmed for December 20 – see the updated email below.

Original: Best Buy is sending out emails to consumers about an impending NES Classic Edition restock. We know that it’s happening soon – it’s just a matter of when.

Unfortunately, Best Buy made some sort of error in its email. It first mentions “tomorrow” (December 8), followed by December 20 right after that. I’d say the latter is a more likely bet, but a restock tomorrow isn’t entirely out of the question.

We’ll let you know if Best Buy clarifies the situation at all.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime will be appearing on The Tonight Show several hours from now. The company’s Twitter page has now acknowledged this, and is putting expectations in check as well.

Reggie’s primary purpose is to show off Super Mario Run. That means we should be seeing some new gameplay of the mobile title.

Super Mario Run is just over a week away – it launches on December 15.

The NES Classic Edition, otherwise known as the Nintendo Classic Mini, is off to a fast start in France. While 100,000 units were shipped, that wasn’t enough to meet demand. Nintendo sold through all of its pre-orders and wasn’t really able to sell the hardware through other means due to a lack of stock.

Part of the NES Classic Edition’s success can be attributed to its demographic. Rather than core gamers, the average consumer has expressed the most interest.

Nintendo remains committed to sending out more NES Classic Edition units to retailers, including France. Shipments will continue this month and into 2017.
