Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, Rumors | 3 Comments
If a new report from AppleInsider is to be believed, Super Mario Run will require 75 megabytes of data per hour with “constant, involved” play. However, the site says “significantly less” data will be needed in “most cases”.
AppleInsider’s article indicates that data usage will vary depending how you play. The site sadly doesn’t provide any specifics. Could the mode you’re playing in have an impact?

Switch unit from The Tonight Show features a European CE marking
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Switch | 15 Comments
Since the Switch showed up on The Late Show earlier this week, many people have been picking apart the footage to see what can be gathered about the system. The latest speculation surrounding Nintendo’s new console pertains to it possibly being region-free.
Switch potentially abandoning the region lock – giving it the ability to play any game from any region – is something that has been rumored before. However, when we saw Switch earlier this week, the back of the unit can be seen with a CE marking. This marking is required for a product to be sold in Europe, somewhat similar to the FCC in the United States.
This raises the question as to why the CE marking was on Reggie’s Switch. Was he playing a European unit (which would seem unlikely)? Is it a sign of it being region-free? With the Nintendo Switch Presentation only a month away, hopefully we’ll find out in a few weeks.
Pokemon GO’s Nearby feature available pretty much everywhere, Sightings now appearing
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 2 Comments
Niantic is expanding the Nearby feature in Pokemon GO once again. Players “in most regions of the world” should now be able to test it, such as Asia. So long as you can access the game from the App Store or Google Play, Nearby should be available to you.
Also mentioned today is that the team “made some changes to the way the Nearby Pokemon feature functions when there are only a few PokeStops in range.” Sightings now seems to appear when this happens.
Niantic wrote on the Pokemon GO website today:
“The Nearby Pokémon feature is being expanded to more locations. Trainers in most regions of the world, who can access Pokémon GO from the App Store or Google Play, can now test this new feature. To provide a better experience when searching for Pokémon in the real world, we have also made some changes to the way the Nearby Pokémon feature functions when there are only a few PokéStops in range. We will continue to review the feedback submitted on our official social media accounts and in other channels and make changes if necessary.”
