When we last heard about Pokemon GO’s revenue milestone, the game was sitting at $250 million. App Annie now believes it “will breeze past $350 million in consumer spending across iOS and Google Play in the coming days.” App Annie VP of marketing and communications Fabien-Pierre Nicolas further adds that “the game is on pace to exceed our $1 billion prediction from early July and surpass any previous mobile game yearly revenues.” Putting that number into perspective, the app could exceed worldwide box-office numbers for Captain America: Civil War, which is 2016’s highest-grossing film thus far.

App Annie’s latest report also goes into user statistics once again. Pokemon GO is the leading game across all demographic segments of iPhone users in the United States, though it’s doing best with the 13–24 segment (top 20 for all apps). As the average player is three times as likely to use Twitch, Steam and Clash Royale, it’s a sign that core players make up a strong segment of the overall demographic.

Monster Boy – not to be confused with Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap – was announced earlier in the year. The side-scrolling adventure will let players transform into different animals to solve puzzles and progress through the world.

Here’s an overview:

“A legendary game series returns with an all-new adventure! Monster Boy is a colourful side-scrolling action adventure created in cooperation with Ryuichi Nishizawa, the creator of the Wonder Boy* Monster World* series (* Trademark of SEGA Corporation Japan). Monster Boy is being created to bring back the enjoyment of classic games that shine by simplicity. Pure, exciting gameplay; upbeat music and smooth graphics. You’ll need to overcome huge bosses, find hidden passages, discover powerful equipment and use all your wits and skills to remove a powerful curse. Monster Boy can transform into 5 different creatures, each with their own skills and abilities. Take advantage of all the unique powers to open new paths and advance in an epic story. Monster Boy is a love letter to gaming from the 80’s and 90’s – will you join us and celebrate together with us?”

Thankfully, we now know that Monster Boy will be appearing on Nintendo platforms. Publisher FDG Games told Nintendo Life, “We’ll certainly bring this game [to] a Nintendo console. I can’t say more yet, unfortunately.”

Here’s a new trailer:

Monster Boy will be playable at Gamescom later this week. It should be out later this year.

Towards the end of last week, Nintendo UK posted a Monster Hunter Generations video about what newcomers to the series like about the game. The company has now followed up with a video from fans. Check it out below.

It’s official: Axiom Verge is heading to Wii U on September 1 in both North America and Europe. Creator Tom Happ announced the news in a blog post today, though we first heard about the news through an eShop listing this weekend.

Happ says Axiom Verge will likely be the best on Wii U. It’s the only console version with leaderboards for the Speedrun Mode, and it also features off-TV play as well as a map on the GamePad.

Here’s what Happ had to say in his blog post:

I’ve been waiting a long time to be able to say this: Axiom Verge will be coming to Wii U on September 1 in both the NOA and NOE regions!

When I first announced Axiom Verge about 4 years ago, there was tremendous excitement from Nintendo fans who had been waiting for years for a true 2D Metroid-style action/adventure/exploration game. Because of some technical issues, however, I wasn’t able to launch it on a Nintendo platform straight away. Some people were understandably upset:

This coming week, Power Disc Slam will be available in North America. The eShop says it’ll be out on August 18 for $7.49.

In Europe, Power Disc Slam launched on July 28.

Here’s an overview from the eShop listing:

Power Disc Slam is no simple throw-about in the park with your dog – it’s an intense arcade sports game pitting you against the best. Choose your favourite character and take to the court to show off your skills. Learn how to slide, spin and trick your opponents.

Watch out for Cooper’s fearsome power, Mariana’s speed, Henrik’s long reach and Adeline’s trickery! Be alert, as each surface plays differently and the scoring layouts change. Practise your skills in Free Play, then go up against the challenge of the Arcade mode.

Try to win all of the cups, see how many opponents you can beat in Survival mode, or compete for the best score in 48 minigame levels across six different games. When you’re ready, challenge your friends with Local Play, or connect to the internet* and play matches against players from around the world.

Can you become a Power Disc Slam master?

PixelMaker, an eShop app that allows users to easily design images and share them on Miiverse, is now making its way to 3DS. This will be the first title on the portable from developer Nostatic Software.

The studio recently announced via Twitter:

PixelMaker previously landed on Wii U in May. It’s currently running on the New 3DS, but Nostatic hopes to have it available on the original 3DS as well.
