In 2011, CatfishBlues Games created the “arcade action game” known as Hyperlight for mobile. The title is now making the jump to New 3DS with several additional features.
Hyperlight EX is coming to the North American and Eurpoean 3DS eShops next month. It’ll feature revamped graphics, enhanced gameplay, and better controls.
Here’s an overview:
“Hyperlight is an high intensity arcade action game in which you control a spaceship that fights against hordes of evil alien monsters in a virtual cosmic environment. Your spaceship has a special capability: it can travel at a Faster Than Light speed (F.T.L.) becoming itself the final weapon. By colliding with enemies in this state the ship can instantly destroy everything it touches! In the game there are also plenty of other bonus, weapons and entities that can help you overcome the many difficulties you’ll be facing, including the battles against the terrific final bosses that await you in the dark side of the universe!”
And a lineup of features:
– Full New Nintendo 3DS controller support.
– Stereoscopic 3D viewing only for New Nintendo 3DS!
– Stunning game graphics, rich in special effects, enemies and explosions!
– Innovative gameplay, immediate and highly rewarding!
– Arcade Mode with 50+ levels, 8 mid-boss stages and 4 final boss battles!
– Infinity Mode with tons of new levels and several mid-boss stages.
– Panic Mode with its peculiar tilt control (uses accelerometer)
– 3 Bonus entities (Drones, Turrets and Plasma Barriers) that will help you in fighting the continuous waves of enemies.
– 7 Bonus weapons (Bomb, Laser, Globe, Crystal, Machinegun, Missle and Virus) that will help you in pulverizing everything on the screen.
– Local Leaderboads for Arcade, Infinity and Panic game modes.

Nintendo to continue developing 3DS software
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 99 Comments
Switch, Nintendo’s next major platform, is just on the horizon. The system is due out in less than half a year. With Switch though, Nintendo isn’t pulling all of its eggs in one basket – at least not yet.
President Tatsumi Kimishima mentioned during a press conference today that Switch and 3DS are entirely different. More importantly though, he said Nintendo will continue to develop software for 3DS.
Beginning next year, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World, Mario Sports Superstars, Ever Oasis, Pikmin, and the localized version of Dragon Quest VIII will head to 3DS. It’s unclear what Nintendo has in store beyond this. We also don’t know how long 3DS development will continue.

Kimishima suggests that consumers will be able to test play Switch before launch
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Switch | 38 Comments
Switch is just a few months away from launching around the world. Thankfully, before then, it sounds like Nintendo will be offering consumers some hands-on time with the system. President Tatsumi Kimishima suggested during a press conference today that there will be some occasions in which consumers will be able to test play Switch prior to release.
Separately from that, Kimishima said he’s confident that after Switch’s full unveiling, people will understand that it would be different from 3DS.
Also, as mentioned earlier today, Switch won’t be sold at a loss though Nintendo will be listening to what consumers feel is an appropriate price for the platform.

Nintendo isn’t ready to divulge how much Switch will cost. However, president Tatsumi Kamishima did say today that the company is listening to what consumers expect when setting price. He also reiterated that the system won’t be sold for a loss.
Kimishima also mentioned that Nintendo is planning on shipping two million Switch units this fiscal year, which ends in March.
Just as we’ve heard over the past week, there will be no announcements regarding specs and price this year.
