Since launching last December, Minecraft: Wii U Edition has only been sold as an eShop title. However, that will be changing in the near future.

The official Minecraft Twitter account sent out a message today confirming that Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be getting a disc version “soon”. A specific date was not included in the tweet.

Since Super Mario Maker came out last year, some players have been affected by levels that have been removed by Nintendo or courses that have just disappeared for seemingly inexplicable reasons. The company’s support page now has new guidelines covering deletions. Admittely though, they won’t help all users determine why their creations were taken down.

Nintendo’s guidelines cover a few main topics. These include low stars, levels with bugs, requesting stars from others, and inappropriate content. You can read the full guidelines below.

  • Low stars/plays
    • After a fixed period of time, courses with low stars/plays will be automatically deleted from the server.

PlayEveryWare is bringing Olympia Rising to the European Wii U eShop next week. A listing on the digital store reveals an April 14 release date and €4.99 price point.

It’s been a long wait for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, but the game should be wrapping up over the next few months. WayForward provided a Kickstarter update today, and noted that the goal is to submit it to Nintendo during the summer.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero should be finished with development in roughly two months. After that, a month of testing will be needed, followed by three weeks for translations and ratings. If all goes well, Half-Genie Hero will be submitted in July, and should be releasing soon after.

Nintendo has more Wii U and 3DS maintenance lined up for early next week. This will be taking place during the early hours on Monday, and will impact online elements such as online play and rankings.

Here’s when the maintenance period is scheduled for:

– 10 PM PT (Sunday) – 2 AM PT (Monday)
– 1 AM ET (Monday) – 5 AM ET (Monday)
– 6 AM in the UK (Monday) – 10 AM in the UK (Monday)
– 7 AM in Europe (Monday) – 11 AM in Europe (Monday)

Emily Rogers – who most recently revealed that a new Paper Mario was heading to Wii U prior to the announcement of Color Splash – has come forward with a new set of rumors about Zelda Wii U.

Today’s speculation consists of three parts. Rogers further backs up claims that the new Zelda will be on both Wii U and NX. Additionally, the game may allow players to choose between a male or female character, and most characters are voiced – aside from Link.

Like with all rumors, these bits should be taken with a grain of salt. It shouldn’t be too much longer until we hear about the new Zelda in an official capacity again, as E3 is coming up quick.
