One multiplayer option in Pokken Tournament is LAN battle mode. With this functionality, local multiplayer with 60 frames per second is possible.
Below are the different requirements for three different routes that can be taken with LAN battles:
Route A | Route B | Route C |
2 Wii Us 2 Pieces of Software 2 TVs* 2 Wii U LAN Adapters 1 Straight LAN Cable 1 Router | 2 Wii Us 2 Pieces of Software 2 TVs* 1 Wireless Router | 2 Wii Us 2 Pieces of Software 2 TVs* 2 Wii U LAN Adapters 1 Crossover LAN Cable |
* Can be substituted for the Wii U GamePad display |
And some extra notes for Route C:
– Routes A and B just need you to set the Internet options on the Wii U to Wired and Wireless respectively
– For Route C, there are some extra steps
– First: set both Wii Us up to connect via Wired Connection
– When the test fails, cancel out but save the connection
– Go into the settings for the connection and change the IP to 192.168.000.001 (or 192.168.000.002 on the second Wii U), Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.000 and Default Gateway to 192.168.000.050
– For the DNS settings, set it as “Do not automatically obtain”
– Set Primary DNS to 1.0.0.0
– Save the settings
Note that to activate LAN battle, you have to hold down L, R & down on the d-pad on the title screen.

3DS has received a new firmware update. Starting now, system owners can download version 10.7.0-32.
We’ll update this post when Nintendo publishes the official update notes. Given recent version changes though, don’t expect too much other than improved system stability.

Hive Jump, Graphite Lab’s upcoming sci-fi action-platformer, will offer co-op with up to four players. There are plans to make this feature available both locally and online on PC, but it’s been confirmed that the Wii U version will only support the former option.
Graphite Lab’s Matt Raithel told Fragments of Silicon in a podcast interview:
“That’s something where we felt like the platform certainly is kind of a party platform. We love playing games on Wii U in kind of party mode. So we don’t have online in the plans for Wii U, but it will be for PC.”
One feature included in the Wii U version of Hive Jump is being able to look at the mini-map on the GamePad. amiibo support is also in the cards, and the studio is looking into the possibility of other features like off-TV play.

Update: Another tidbit of history from Renegade Kid – a port of Nina Five-O from GBA to DS.
Another blast from the past. Our pitch to port Ninja Five-O from GBA to DS as a 2.5D beast! pic.twitter.com/ASmH1L41eC

Yesterday, Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham shared on Twitter that the company once pitched a Game Boy Advance port of Demon’s Crest to Capcom. Nothing ever materialized from those early discussions though, as low sales of the SNES version didn’t warrant a port to the handheld.
Watsham also said that Renegade Kid “pitched a lot of things” to Capcom as well as Konami. But much like Demon’s Crest, talks did not progress too far.
Watsham’s tweets are as follows:
Little Known Fact: We pitched a GBA port of Demon's Crest to Capcom back in the day. They said the SNES version didn't sell enough.

No, we pitched a lot of things to Capcom and Konami over the years. Nothing landed. https://t.co/lhpqPJoC0S
