The Stonecutter landed on the North American Wii U eShop today. Check out some footage from the game below.

Reddit user ZoomBoppo has expended a huge amount of effort into finding the “secrets” within amiibo. After going through the figures’ code in-depth, he was able to determine some potentially interesting findings.

Here’s a quick roundup:

– It’s very likely ZSS and Dr. Mario will work the same as Samus and Mario respectively in games like Mario Kart 8 and Ace Combat, with Dr. Mario being usable in Mario Party 10.
– There may be a Rosalina amiibo without Luma, likely for the Super Mario series.
– Space is reserved for every Pokemon, which could mean anything.
– Mii Fighters are coming.
– It’s likely there are 2 more Mario-series amiibo yet to be announced.
– There are two amiibo series in limbo. They could either be YWW and AC, or two completely unannounced ones.

If you’d like to take a peak at the huge amount of work that went into these findings, you can check out the Reddit page here. Just keep in mind that nothing is confirmed until Nintendo makes announcements.

Is this the end of Nintendo Video in North America? That’s a very strong possibility given a new message distributed by SpotPass today.

In the message, Nintendo states that Nintendo Video content is moving to the eShop. You’ll be able to watch past shows by visiting the digital store.

Nintendo Video hasn’t seen much promotion in recent months, so it’d hardly be a surprise to see it come to a close. I hate to say it, but there’s not much need for the app at present.

Update: Bumped to the top. Along with Super Mario Bros., Doom, Pac-Man, Pong, Tetris, and World of Warcraft are being inducted.

Super Mario Bros. has been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame, Nintendo has announced.

A committee of journalists, scholars and video game industry members made the decision to honor the classic NES title. Games selected for recognition are based on the criteria of icon-status, longevity, geographical reach, and influence.

Super Mario Bros. is one of six titles being inducted into the inaugural class in the World Video Game Hall of Fame at the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York.

Kevin Pereira, who is perhaps best known for his time on the G4 television program Attack of the Show, may be hosting the Nintendo World Championships 2015.

Pereira wrote the following on his Twitter account earlier today:

Assuming I’m not reading into this too much, Pereira could be hosting the Nintendo World Championships. Geoff Keighley was thought to be a potential host since he led the way on last year’s Smash Bros. Invitational, though he could be too preoccupied with YouTube’s new Live at E3 initiative. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough!
