Puyo Puyo Tetris is on display at SEGA’s TGS 2013 booth for the first time. Details from the game’s playable demo, courtesy of Destructoid, can be found below.

– Has a motion control scheme on Wii U
– First choose a character
– Then you’re asked if you’d like to play Puyo or Tetris
– In a classic competitive match, the other game you did not choose ends up being your opponent’s game
– If you choose Puyo, you can set up combos and match colors to send obstacle lines to the computer opponent’s Tetris board
– Computer’s line clears send random blocks
– Swap mode: games changing for each player in a given time
– 4-player mode also included
– Can also play Tetris vs. Tetris or Puyo Puyo vs. Puyo Puyo

2DS trademarked in Japan

The 2DS may be heading to Japan after all. Nintendo recently registered a trademark for the system in the Japanese database, hinting at a release sometime in the future.

Nintendo previously said that the company doesn’t have plans to launch the 2DS in Japan. But that doesn’t mean things can’t change, right?
