Smash Bros. 3DS contains a reference to Reggie’s “My body is ready” meme
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Random | 2 Comments
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has had plenty of memorable moments over the past decade. There is, of course, his grand debut at E3 2004. Reggie will also always be remembered for his now-famous line from a Wii Fit presentation at E3 2007: “My body is ready”.
This is something Nintendo has decided to recognize in the latest Smash Bros. game on 3DS. After collecting the different custom outfits in the game, you’ll be presented with the image above. Random no doubt, but it’s a pretty great inclusion on Nintendo’s part!
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate producer explains Sonic and Nintendo collaborations
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 4 Comments
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is jam-packed with collaborations with other franchises. Recently, SEGA announced that the game would see a crossover with Sonic the Hedgehog. Players will be able to dress felynes in Sonic armor, and there’s also a guild card based on the Green Hill Zone.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explained to Siliconera how the collaboration with SEGA came to be. He said:
“There are actually a few people at Sega that we’re pretty close to. We were chatting and thinking if there was something we could do together—some kind of collaboration. Then we settled on Sonic, ultimately, because he’s not only popular here in Japan, he’s also extremely popular overseas.”
“Since we’re doing an overseas version of this game, it made sense to do some sort of collaborative crossover that would make sense globally. So I had an associate of mine at Sega introduce me to the person in charge [of licensing]. We shook hands, made the deal, and there you go.”

Rumor: Tharja trophy removed from Smash Bros. 3DS to avoid higher age rating
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, Rumors | 31 Comments
Fire Emblem’s Tharja was set to appear in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS as a collectible trophy. However, it’s rumored (repeat: rumor!) that she was ultimately cut, as her clothing was a bit too revealing and would have forced the game into a higher age rating bracket – something Nintendo wanted to avoid.
Tharja was included in a large batch of leaked Smash Bros. 3DS photos – supposedly from the ESRB – back in August. Now that the game is out worldwide, it’s clear that she isn’t in any version (North America, Europe, Japan).
Check out the gallery above for a few photos of the removed Tharja trophy.

Players will be able to equip themselves with Aladdin’s staff in addition to Alibaba’s sword Amon (available as a broad sword). Capcom will also be including collaboration quests that provide the title of “Magic” and a Magi-themed guild card.

Final Fantasy Explorers won’t support 3D, details on New 3DS controls
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS, News | 1 Comment
Final Fantasy Explorers will be one of a few 3DS games to not make use of the system’s stereoscopic 3D visuals. Square Enix has also detailed how the game will control on New 3DS. The camera can be controlled with the c-stick, the ZL button is used for monster lock-on, and the ZR button is for summon monster lock-on. Players can also use the Circle Pad Pro with a regular 3DS.
