General Nintendo

The Nintendo leaks that have sprung up since late last week are continuing as fans are still combing through the many files and assets. We have another batch of interesting findings relating to a number of N64 games. With Animal Crossing for instance (which only made it to Japan on the N64), a few unused characters have been found from early development. Fans have also shared footage of a beta dungeon in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, images of another scrapped Super Mario 64 enemy, and even a look at a cut Mario Kart 64 track.

Since our last report on the new Nintendo leaks, a bunch of additional findings have been publicized online. Much of what has been found over the past day or so pertains to N64 titles, including beta/unused enemies for Super Mario 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. We also have a look at scrapped items for Mario Kart 64 and more.

Here’s the roundup of notable discoveries:

Luigi - Super Mario 64

24 years after the launch of Super Mario 64 on the N64, Luigi’s model has finally been restored in the game.

Luigi was originally planned for the 3D platformer through splitscreen multiplayer. However, Nintendo abandoned the idea after the team was unable to implement the idea.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, yet another major Nintendo leak has turned up today. The latest one is all about the N64 such as the system’s operating system and lots of games.

Mega Man

A Mega Man movie was first said to be in the works in September 2017. It was a year later that Capcom announced a live-action film based on the franchise. There hasn’t been much in the way of updates, but the project is still in the works.

Speaking with IGN, birectors Henry Joost and Rel Schulman briefly provided an update. Joost also indicated that “big news” is coming soon.

Joost as well as Schulman shared the following:

As part of today’s big Nintendo leak, it’s been revealed that iQue proposed a mainline Pokemon game for PC that would have offered extensive online features.

The PowerPoint presentation is dated from November 2004. In it, we hear about plans for trading, battling, and chatting online as well as an online tournament mode, treasure hunting, and even the ability to use the Game Boy Advance as a controller.
