IGN recently spoke with Final Fantasy IV lead designer and Chrono Trigger director Tokita Takashi for a new interview. Regarding Final Fantasy IV, Takashi spoke about the challenges of implementing many new mechanics and discusses some scenarios that were originally planned for the game. He also weighed in on which Chrono Trigger ending he believes is canon, and how ideas for the cancelled Chrono Break made it into Fantasy Dimensions II.

My Nintendo has updated again with a number of new rewards in North America. A couple are specific to Zelda: Breath of the Wild, featuring the latest 3DS theme and a January calendar. You can also use your points on the latest discounts.

Nintendo recently asked fans to send in letters to Mario. In a video published on the Play Nintendo YouTube account, the first one is read. Below, you can hear Mario’s thoughts on his favorite thing about having a great adventure with friends.

My Nintendo has updated with new wallpapers in both North America and Europe.

Stateside, just one wallpaper has been added. You can nab a Style Savvy: Styling Star design for 50 Platinum Points.

In Europe, two Fire Emblem Warriors wallpapers are up for grabs. “Heroes” and “Retro” designs are on the site for 50 Platinum Points each.

The Nintendo Power brand has been brought back in a big way. Nintendo just released the first episode of its new “Nintendo Power” podcast. You can listen to it right here.

Host Chris Slate is joined by Nintendo Minute co-host Kit Ellis and Damon Baker from Publisher and Developer Relations at Nintendo of America to look back at Switch’s first year. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild developers Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi then discuss their game.

If you’re on an iOS device with access to iMessage, you can purchase a new set of stickers from Nintendo based on Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It features Link, Princess Zelda, and other familiar faces from Hyrule, including memorable lines and poses.

GamesIndustry has provided new information about gaming sales in the UK this year. The site breaks down the top five publishers by UK sales as well as sales by platform.

In terms of publishers, Nintendo ranks third when it comes to boxed sales. That’s behind EA (16.8%) and Activision Blizzard (15.6%), but ahead of Ubisoft (9.7%) and Sony (8.3%).
