Disney XD has been focusing much more on eSports coverage as of late. The network even aired the Smash Bros. Wii U finals from EVO 2017 live. Aside from that, Disney XD also featured coverage of Nintendo’s tournaments from E3 2017.

Data analyst Jordan Fragen has offered a look at Disney XD’s eSports coverage, with Nintendo leading the way. Between the live show and repeat airing, the Smash Bros. Wii U finals at EVO was the most-viewed program. Over 325,000 viewers tuned in.

If you’ve been keeping up with the Switch stock situation, you might be aware as to how crazy things have been in Japan. The supply chain is slowly beginning to improve, but thousands of people continue to line up in hopes of obtaining a system. Japanese morning show Tokudane recently covered the craziness.

Towards the start of the month, roughly 3,000 people lined up at a retailer for a chance to buy one of 105 Switch consoles. This was in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro:

Europe’s My Nintendo website has just added three discounts for certain Pokemon games on the Wii U.

A brand new Zelda: Ocarina of Time glitch is starting to circulate within the speedrunning community. With it, any item can be used as child or adult Link.

Exodus122, who found the glitch, suggests that the development could have a big effect on speedrunning. As one example, since you can now equip the hammer as a child, you can complete the fire temple as child Link. While it was possible before, the glitch greatly streamlines the process and removes complicated steps.

Here’s a look at the glitch in action:

Game Informer’s latest piece of Pokemon coverage is all about Pokemon spin-offs. Game Freak co-founder, director, and producer Junichi Masuda and Pokemon Sun/Moon director Shigeru Ohmori were both asked about their favorite ones.

As for Masuda, he went with Pokemon GO, though he’s unsure if it’s actually a spin-off game. Ohmori went with Pokemon Snap. He said that one of the best aspects of the N64 title was printing out the photos in real life.

The Metroid: Samus Returns amiibo can be pre-ordered on Best Buy once again. It’s up for grabs on the retailer’s website right here. The 2-pack will be available on September 15.

Earlier today, Nicalis tweeted out a brief GIF showing Quote of Cave Story fame in a new 3D model. The idea here is that the model is being used for something, though we’re not quite sure what it is yet.

We all know about Cave Story’s ties to Nintendo platforms. This may not be for a new game, but it could still be game-related. Some folks are speculating that the model will be used for Brawlout, which has indie characters and was announced for Switch last week. We’ll just have to wait and see…

Those who use the app as of today can use the Lens to see Pikachu’s ears, nose, and bright-red cheeks appear over their face. Users can then open their mouth to hear Pikachu’s iconic voice as it jumps onto the screen and strikes a pose.

Nintendo tends to appear at the regular PAX events each year. With PAX West 2017 just a few weeks away, the big N’s presence is confirmed – and in an interesting way.

The official PAX West schedule was published this week. We now know that Nintendo will be holding some sort of panel in the Hydra Theater on September 2 between 10 and 11 AM. The panel itself is a mystery at present, with its description simply stating: “A special Nintendo panel at PAX West 2017!”

Could it be for Metroid: Samus Returns? Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s upcoming DLC? Anything is on the table at this point. Nintendo should be announcing details about the panel soon, along with other plans it has in store for PAX West 2017.
