E3 is by far the biggest gaming event of the year. It’s true that Nintendo Directs often deliver significant news, but E3 tends to be where the most important announcements and reveals take place – at least across the industry as a whole. All eyes are always on each of the major platform holders to see what they have in store for the months and years ahead.

After a slightly nontraditional – but still successful – E3 in 2016, we’re getting a more standard format from Nintendo this time around. Nintendo is returning to video presentations with its broadcast on Tuesday. Treehouse will be back as well for three days of streaming (up from two days last year). And if that wasn’t enough, three separate tournaments are happening: one for Splatoon 2, another for ARMS, and a final one for Pokken Tournament DX.

E3 is always where people can dream big. And since we’re just a few days out from the expo, we want to hear from all of you. What do you want to see Nintendo announce at E3? What are your realistic expectations, and dreams that are a bit further out there? Even if you simply want to bathe in the hype that is E3, that’s fine as well! YouTube Live at E3 is kicking off its festivities tomorrow. Hours of conferences, gameplay previews, and more will be shown. The Game Awards boss Geoff Keighley will be hosting the proceedings.

Towards the end of tomorrow’s stream, Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime will be stopping by. The program note mentions, “Geoff and Reggie are reunited live on the YouTube Live at E3 stage for an epic head-to-head battle in ARMS, as Reggie previews Nintendo’s activities for E3 2017.”

WayForward recently unveiled the very first figure featuring Shantae. Unfortunately, its availability could possibly be limited.

WayForward’s Matt Bozon put out a message yesterday confirming that the figure will be sold at Anime Expo 2017. Quantities are also expected to be limited.

Now… what if you’re not attending Anime Expo? Bozon says it’ll be up to distributor Volks to sell it online through its store. If the Shantae figure sells well at Anime Expo, more units could potentially be produced.

Nintendo NY has big plans in store for E3 2017. The store rolled out what it has planned for the expo next week.

On Tuesday, Nintendo NY will host a live stream of Nintendo Spotlight: E3 presentation as it happens. The Treehouse streams will also be covered throughout the week. Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario, will be stopping by next Friday, and playable demos will be available.

If you’re looking for some good Zelda reading material, you may want to read up on a new interview published by Denfaminicogamer. The site shared a huge discussion conducted between series producer Eiji Aonuma and Square Enix’s Jin Fujisawa, who has been overseeing the Dragon Quest series. Much of the talk is about Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the franchise in general. I don’t think we could even begin to do the interview justice by posting a summary or excerpts here, so read up on the full interview on this page if you’re interested.

Two more Pokemon figures are on the way. Today we’re able to get a look at the Red figma as well as a Lillie and Cosmog figure produced by Kotobukiya.

Pre-orders for the Red figma open on June 13. Pokemon Centers in Japan will begin taking reservations for the Lillie and Cosmog figure on June 17.

Yesterday, Nintendo and Universal Studios Japan held a special ceremony to announce the official start of construction on Super Nintendo World. 4Gamer shared some comments from Shigeru Miyamoto following the event.

At one point of the interview, Miyamoto touched on possible Switch interactivity at the park. He joked around by saying that he hopes the system will be even more popular in 2020, and thinks it could have a lifespan of longer than five years. According to Miyamoto, they’re thinking of potential interactivity between Switch and Super Nintendo World, and preparations are already in place for that. Nintendo is sharing their know-how from past experiences (like the 3DS at the Louvre Museum) and experimentation with Universal Studios and they are both are planning on how to implement the feature.

A Super Nintendo World Groundbreaking Ceremony was held at Universal Studios Japan today. It was attended by various representatives, including Shigeru Miyamoto, to announce the official start of construction. A Mario Kart attraction is also confirmed.

Watch a new video for Super Nintendo World below. It’s planned to open before the start of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
