The ability to take selfies is a small, but addmittedley neat feature in Zelda: Wind Waker HD. How’d the idea come about?
Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma gave IGN a rather simple answer. Taking selfies is commonplace these days, and even he gets involved with such photos from time to time.
And so Aonuma asked the director of Zelda: Wind Waker HD to include the functionality. While the idea initially seemed like it would be too difficult, selfies eventually made their way into the final game.
According to Aonuma:

Doctor Strange table coming to Marvel Pinball
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
A new Doctor Strange table will be released for Marvel Pinball (through Zen Pinball 2) later this year, Zen Studios has announced.
Here’s the official overview:
Strange’s rival sorcerer Baron Mordo has called upon the demonic forces of the Dread Dormammu and the Fear Lord, Nightmare, all part of his plot to assume the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme for himself. Meanwhile, Shuma-Gorath, the Lord of Chaos, resides in the background with nefarious plans of his own…
Numerous voiceover lines and situations were adapted straight from 50 years of Doctor Strange comic books for this table, including the classic first two issues of DOCTOR STRANGE, SORCERER SUPREME (1988), wherein Dormammu threatened our dimension by overtaking Strange in his own body. Only with carefully cast spells (i.e., deadeye shots from you, the player) does Strange hope to stand a chance against inconceivable odds.
Doctor Strange will be available in December. Screenshots can be found above.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game officially announced, more details
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 0 comments
More details on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game have emerged through an official announcement.
The title “builds on the story of the previous game with an alternative take on the events of the upcoming movie, while also giving players an enhanced, free-roaming web-slinging experience through a greatly expanded New York City.”
Developer Beenox is including more abilities, upgrades, challenges, as well as “more freedom to progress.” Also new in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the “Hero of Menace” system, “which incentivizes Super Hero behavior by rewarding the web-slinger’s crime-fighting efforts, and adds consequences for letting criminality fester.”
Here’s the official story overview:
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, players once again assume the role of the iconic Super Hero in a unique side-story inspired by the feature film but set in its own continuity. Throughout his journey, Spider-Man will encounter a number of new foes as well as some old friends, as he confronts a new threat to his beloved city. The narrative will give Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s nerdy photojournalist persona, a greater role in the spotlight, as he investigates the complicated motivations and unique personalities behind the menagerie of Marvel menaces threatening Manhattan.
You can find the official announcement after the break.

Aonuma says Link Between Worlds is more of a “new title” than a sequel, game has hints, hand-holding not fun

Polygon caught up with Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma following his speaking session at the New York Comic Con yesterday.
Aonuma delivered some very intriguing answers, in which he said that A Link Between Worlds can be considered more of a “new title” than a sequel, revealed that there are hints in the game, and spoke about how the team set out “to make it a game where it would be fun to get stuck and be lost.” He also acknowledged, “we kind of have a bad habit of hand-holding, trying to make things easier for everyone. But more and more, I start to think that that kind of isn’t actually that fun.”
The full Q&A roundup is posted below. You can also check out Polygon’s full piece here.
