Sonic Colors: Ultimate

SEGA has put out an official announcement for the just-announced Sonic Colors: Ultimate. We have confirmation on pricing, a new Rival Rush mode, and more.

Following today’s Sonic Central presentation, SEGA has issued a press release recapping all of the major news. There were a number of announcements during the show, including Sonic Colors Ultimate, Sonic Origins, and a new project from Sonic Team.

To close out today’s Sonic Central broadcast, SEGA teased the next entry in the series. A brief trailer was shown – and it was all CG.

The name of the new project is not yet known, but it’s confirmed for Switch. We’ll be seeing it in 2022.


Sonic Origins

SEGA has announced Sonic Origins, a new compilation of classic titles. It will launch in 2022.

Sonic Origins will feature Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD.

Sonic Origins is set for release on the “latest platforms.”

Sonic Colors: Ultimate

Sonic Colors Ultimate is in development, SEGA has announced. It will launch for Switch on September 7.

Sonic Colors Ultimate will feature a baby Sonic keychain at retail. SEGA is also planning a Digital Deluxe version featuring early access, exclusive music, gold and silver wearables, exclusive player icons, and Sonic movie boost.

SEGA has announced that Sonic will be featured in Tokyo 2020 Olympics: The Official Game. Players will be able to dress their avatar as the Blue Blur.

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power

Nintendo has gone live with a new overview trailer for DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power. Take a look at the video below.

KeyWe was previously known to be on track for August, but we didn’t have an actual date. Sold Out and Stonewheat & Sons have now confirmed that the postal puzzler is dropping on August 31.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers

D3 Publisher is promoting the launch of Earth Defense Force: World Brothers outside of Japan with a new launch trailer. We’ve attached the video below.

SEGA’s official Sonic Central live stream will be kicking off not too long from now. The broadcast begins at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM in the UK / 6 PM in Europe. As previously mentioned, it will cover “a first look at some of the projects, partnerships, and events” for Sonic’s 30th anniversary.
