Capcom has announced on its official Twitter that new information regarding Monster Hunter Rise will be shared via livestream on January 7. This follows a video announcement last week regarding new information on the title being released this month.

The livestream will be available on the official Monster Hunter Twitch channel, which can be accessed here.

Additionally, a demo for the game is planned to release sometime this month.

After an agreement in which Nintendo has obtained 100 percent of the company’s shares, Next Level games has now become a subsidiary. The deal closes on March 1st, making the Vancouver, Canada company fully-owned by Nintendo. As developers of titles like Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Super Mario Strikers Charged, as well as the more recent Luigi’s Mansion 3, it is clear that the team will be put to good use. A few months ago, Supraland debuted on consoles, including Switch. Unfortunately, the “Crash” DLC that released on PC last summer is unlikely to make it over.

Supra Games said that the “PC and console are both on completely different versions of the game” and the DLC “is just not compatible.” It was also pointed out that a very low amount of players would probably purchase the extra content.

SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays Platinum Edition

Bandai Namco today announced SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays Platinum Edition, a new release containing the main game and several DLC packs.

The DLC is comprised of the season pass, four Added Dispatch Mission sets, an Expansion Pack, and 13 pieces of content previously released for free. It does not come with the port of SD Gundam G Generation: Monoeye Gundams or the bonus mission “Gain EN Boosting Parts.”

Yesterday, a Switch version of Kingdom Come Deliverance popped up on Nintendo’s Japanese website. The game was listed for a February 18 release. There was some hope – and perhaps an expectation by some – that an official announcement would be happening soon.

Unfortunately though, the listing appears to have been nothing more than an error. PR manager Tobi Stolz-Zwilling indicated that a Switch version of Kingdom Come Deliverance isn’t currently in the cards. No one can say where the listing originated from in the first place, but it’s likely that Nintendo will be removing it soon.

Sky: Children of the Light

A few months ago, thatgamecompany pushed back the Switch version of Sky: Children of the Light. It was originally planned for last spring, though ultimately the delay will be about a year.

thatgamecompany provided an update on the Switch version today, including a new release window. It’s now on track for a Spring 2021 launch.

Today’s news was also accompanied by a new trailer for the game. We’ve included the video below.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 - Shin Akuma

After 25 years, it’s been discovered that Shin Akuma can be unlocked in Street Fighter Alpha 2.

Gizaha, a modder, was looking to reverse engineer the game’s code in hopes of improving performance. In doing so, he came across a series of steps that lets players access Shin Akuma. While the character appeared as a secret boss character, it wasn’t until recently that the unlock method was made known.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Original (1/3): This week’s UK software sales are in, and it includes significant information about Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The game, which saw a 7 percent sales increase week-on-week, was the second best-selling game of 2020 in terms of boxed releases – only FIFA 21 did better. However, if we’re looking at single platform sales as opposed to grouping all systems together, Animal Crossing is well ahead of FIFA 21 on PlayStation 4.

Boxed sales of Switch games dipped only 25 percent week-on-week. That’s in contrast to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which fell 48 percent and 53 percent respectively.
