Innersloth reveals how Among Us changed during development and more

Among Us wasn’t always the breakout game fans know of today. In an interview shared by Nintendo, Innersloth co-founder Forest Willard discussed the title’s origins.
Among Us went through quite a few changes during development. Willard said that players “would draw a role card and roam around a house aimlessly while ‘the mafia’ person secretly ‘killed’ players by drawing a finger across someone’s neck. The tasks also “changed several times” and the ship was initially “always in crisis while the crewmates attempted to hold it together and Impostors could do tasks wrong to hinder players.”
The same interview also touched on how long it took to create Among Us. Since the game was “originally so much smaller,” the team wrapped up development in about seven months.

Monolith Soft president on the company’s growth, future prospects of the industry

XSEED has announced the latest update for Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. Although it’s out on other platforms, Switch players will need to wait a bit longer for its release.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition physical release announced with special editions

It’s official: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition is getting a physical release. Limited Run Games has teamed up with Ubisoft and Universal Pictures to make it happen.
A standard version will be available, which includes a reversible cover. There will also be special editions in the form of the Classic Edition and K.O. Edition.

The Berlin Tour is the next major event in Mario Kart Tour, Nintendo has announced. It will begin on January 12 at 10 PM PT / January 13 at 1 AM ET.
While you wait for the Berlin Tour to begin, you can still partake in the New Year’s 2021 Tour. That one will be live through January 12.

Voice actor Brad Venable, who played Nader and Kostas in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, has passed away

We’re sad to report that voice actor Brad Venable has passed away. He was 43 years old.
Venable played the roles of Nader and Kostas in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. He was involved in other Nintendo-published titles as well, including Fire Emblem Heroes (as Cormag), Detective Pikachu (as Max Warhol and Gino Farina), Pokemon Masters (Clay), Daemon X Machina (Gloom), and Sushi Striker (Franklin).
A number of voice actors have expressed their sadness about hearing of Venable’s passing on social media. We’ve rounded up just a few of their responses below.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate getting physical release in the west, including collector’s edition

When Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate launched last month, Japan was the only region where a physical version was offered. That’s now changing, courtesy of Limited Run Games.
Limited Run Games will soon be offering standard and collector’s edition versions of Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate. The latter release includes an art book, Mamel stress ball, art prints, and Miracle Dice.
