Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Original (12/13): This week’s UK software sales are in, and there are a couple of interesting Nintendo-related tidbits.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has seen its sales increase every week for more than a month. This week, the game went up 8 percent. It is expected to finish 2020 as the second biggest boxed game.

Immortals Fenyx Rising fell from #11 to #17. However, sales only decreased by 45 percent week-on-week. The Switch version also sold the best this past week, and that Switch edition is now the most popular version overall.

The Hong Kong Massacre

After it was announced back in September, Hong Kong Massacre has been dated for Switch. The fast-faced, top-down shooter is scheduled for December 26.

Fortnite

Olija

It was recently announced that Olija will launch in early 2021. We now have an actual date, as the game has appeared on the eShop. The store page indicates that Olija is planned for a January 28, 2021 release.

ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights

When we reported on ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights a few months ago, there was some confusion as to whether a Switch version had actually been confirmed. Binary Haze Interactive, Live Wire, Adglobe Tokyo, and Adglobe Montreal Studio made the news official today. Additionally, we have a new release window of Q2 2021 for the Switch version.

Skul: The Hero Slayer

Skul: The Hero Slayer, the action-platformer from Neowiz and SouthPAW Games, now has a release window. It’s been confirmed that the title will land on Nintendo’s console sometime in early 2021.

Switch PlayStation Xbox

Xbox published an announcement today in which the company says it is aligned with Nintendo and PlayStation in ensuring the safety of players, particularly when it comes to online gaming. “We can accomplish more when we work toward the same goal, and so we will each continue investing in, evolving, and amplifying our approaches to user safety,” the notice states.

The announcement mentions three key principles: prevention, partnership, and responsibility. That means empowering players/parents to understand and control gaming experiences, partnering with the industry, regulators, law enforcement, and communities to advance user safety, and making platforms as safe as possible for all players.

A new Indie World Showcase will air tomorrow, December 15, Nintendo has announced. The presentation will be about 15 minutes long and will feature new announcements on indie titles.
