Furukawa, Miyamoto on Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri joining Nintendo as outside director

Back in May, Chris Meledandri was nominated as a new outside director at Nintendo. He was then officially approved last week with a vote of 99.31 percent.
Meledandri’s addition to Nintendo may seem surprising to some. He’s the CEO over at Illumination – the studio behind the films Despicable Me and Minions.
During Nintendo’s 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, president Shuntaro Furukawa and representative director/fellow Shigeru Miyamoto both weighed in on what Meledandri brings to the table. Read up on their comments below.

Fire Emblem Heroes announces Summer’s Dream summoning event

Summer’s Dream has been announced as the next summoning event in Fire Emblem Heroes. It will feature Freyja, Freyr, Ogma, and Caeda (as a duo). A new Paralogue Story is planned. Additionally, 5-star Hero Norne: Seaside Volunteer will appear as a Score Reward in the next Tempest Trials+ event.
Fire Emblem Heroes will host the new Summer’s Dream event on July 7. We have a trailer below.
Dark Samus amiibo receiving a reprint

If you missed out on the Dark Samus amiibo, you’ll be happy to hear that you’ll have another chance at adding the figure to your collection. A new listing just popped up today on Best Buy. According to the retailer, Dark Samus will be available once more on October 8.
You can pre-order the Dark Samus amiibo on Best Buy here. Other retailers will presumably follow soon.
