Squids Odyssey

After previously appearing on 3DS and Wii U, The Game Bakers is putting Squids Odyssey on Switch tomorrow. Have a look at some footage below.

Dragon Quest is no stranger to long localizations. It can take years for games to leave Japan after all. With Dragon Quest VII on 3DS for example, it took over three years for the RPG to reach North America and Europe.

Dragon Quest XI producer Yuu Miyake spoke about this with Game Informer. Due to the large amount of text in each game and creator Yuji Horii’s dedication to the translation, it can take quite some time for different entries in the series to appear around the world.

Hollow Knight

In a recent news post sent out to Switch owners, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for June 2018.

This month, Hollow Knight takes the top spot. FIFA 18 also rises all the way to the second spot while new entry Mario Tennis Aces is third.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Each year when E3 rolls around, it’s accompanied by increased activity at retailers like GameStop. Switch in particular put in work there.

GameStop VP of merchandising Eric Bright mentioned to GamesIndustry that Switch sales doubled during E3 week. Titles like Smash Bros. Ultimate were also highly pre-ordered.

Eye Monitor

Sanko is working on a new product known as the “Eye Theater”, an upcoming accessory that will be compatible with Switch and smartphones.

The wearable device makes you feel like you are watching a 120-inch screen. It has a resolution of 1,280×800. Along with the monitor, it also includes an adapter and HDMI cables.

The Eye Monitor will be available in Japan this September. Pricing is set at 22,780 yen.
