Kirby Star Allies

Nintendo’s Hong Kong YouTube channel has posted its own trailer for Kirby Star Allies. View the video below for the latest footage.

In a series of messages posted on Twitter, PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya spoke about Bayonetta and Nintendo’s involvement. He was a director on the first game, contributed to the second title, and may have some involvement with the third entry.

Kamiya recalled how, originally, Bayonetta 2 was considered for multiple platforms when it was in development as part of a collaboration with SEGA. However, the game was put on hold because of “circumstances” at the company. After Nintendo stepped in, PlatinumGames was able to finish development, and the rights are with the Big N and SEGA. Nintendo actually allowed the Japanese voice track created for the Wii U version of Bayonetta to be included in the PC version.

Ubisoft

Earlier today, Ubisoft shared its latest financial results. In doing so, the company declared itself as the leading third-party publisher on Switch. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is currently the top-selling title on the platform for third-party releases.

Ubisoft spoke further about Switch during its financial call. CEO Yves Guillemot stated:

In a tweet earlier today, developer Fuzzy Wuzzy Games teased a new game for “a brand new IP featuring brand new characters.” While it is unclear what console the game will be available on, the developer previously released their 3D action puzzle platformer Armillo on the Wii U eShop in 2014. More details are to come July 3. We will keep you posted.

The psychological horror game Layers of Fear: Legacy is set for a release on Switch February 21. With just little over a week from release, Bloober Team, the game’s developer, has detailed how the Switch’s unique HD Rumble feature will be used in the game in conjunction with the Joy-Con:

Probably the one feature that will stand out immediately will be the ability to open a door or a drawer by the swing of your hand. We have been working with the rumble feature for some time, trying to tune it to an output that won’t spoil the discreet atmosphere of our horror game with over-rumbling (a reaction you would expect to follow a jump scare), but preserving a distinct tactile experience, while exploring the game’s environment.
