Since The Game Awards started, numerous platform holders have offered discounts that tie into the show. Nintendo was never a part of the promtion in the past, but that’s apparently changing this year.

The Game Awards creator and host Geoff Keighley mentioned in a live stream on Periscope today that the eShop will be seeing its own discounts “for the first time” – just like the PlayStation Network, Xbox Games Store, Steam, and Origin. We’ll find out which games are eligible in a few days, but the Nintendo-related winners and/or nominees will likely be included.

The Game Awards will be held this Thursday at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT. That’s Friday at 2 AM in the UK / 3 AM in Europe.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu‘s most wanted games chart! Monster Hunter XX gains some momentum and is in the top ten.

Bandai Namco is set to unveil another new fighter in the arcade version of Pokken Tournament in just a few days. Today, the company has confirmed that a new roster addition will be announced on December 1 – this coming Thursday.

Scizor was added to Pokken Tournament arcade in October. Last month, Bandai Namco followed that up by bringing in Croagunk, which was somewhat unexpected. Since Darkrai was introduced during the summer, Empoleon is the only remaining character found in patch files for the Wii U version that has not been unveiled – so perhaps this Pokemon could be the new addition.

Bandai Namco has recently been showing new Pokken Tournament fighters during Niconico streams, but we haven’t heard anything about a broadcast thus far. Regardless, look for news later this week.

This week’s issue of Famitsu contains a two-page interview with two of Ubisoft’s executives. EMEA boss Alain Corre was included in the conversation.

During the chat, Famitsu asked a question about Switch. Regarding the upcoming platform and Ubisoft’s support, Corre responded with the following:

“We have big expectations for the innovative Nintendo Switch. Our Just Dance franchise, for example, is one that people enjoy with families. With the Nintendo Switch in hand, children, their parents, or even their grandparents, would be able to dance out in the backyard on holidays. Doesn’t that sound exciting (laughs)? The hardware really helps expand the possibilities of fun, people of all ages will be able to play games anywhere. We hope to have a wide variety of software available, but we’re unable to go into details just yet. Sorry (laughs).”

Ubisoft has been talking a bunch about Switch, even before Nintendo formally revealed the system last month. When it was still known as NX, Corre himself said that it “will recapture a lot of the lapsed Wii players.”
