LEGO Dimensions – The Powerpuff Girls packs still happening, first details
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 2 Comments
LEGO Dimensions still hasn’t released a number of previously-announced packs, including content based on The Powerpuff Girls. Despite the lack of updates since the initial news was shared several months ago, Warner Bros. and TT Games haven’t ditched their original plans.
First details about upcoming LEGO Dimensions packs based on The Powerpuff Girls were made known when Cartoon Network announced its 2017-18 lineup this week. Two different products are planned. Along with a Team Pack, a new Fun Pack is lined up as well.
The Team Pack will Blossom and Bubbles minifigures while the Fun Pack has Buttercup. Both let players fly around in the Townsville Hub, featuring Pokey Oaks elementary, City Hall, Rainbow Land, the Pickle Museum, and Professor Utonium’s lab.
A release date for The Powerpuff Girls packs wasn’t mentioned. However, it looks like new LEGO Dimensions packs will begin to ship in May.
Yooka-Laylee has a Conker’s Bad Fur Day Easter egg

Playtonic is comprised of many former staffers from Rare. It makes sense then that for the team’s debut title, an Easter egg was included from one of their earlier works.
GameXplain came across one little secret referencing Conker’s Bad Fur Day, a platformer from the N64 era. We won’t reveal it here, but it amounts to a book’s name being the same as a line spoken by Conker. GameXplain has the full rundown below.

Project X Zone co-producer also leaves Monolith Soft
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 15 Comments
Project X Zone 2 director Soichiro Morizumi announced his departure from Monolith Soft a couple of days ago. Joining him is Koji Ishitani, who acted as the series’ co-producer.
Ishitani wrote on Twitter, as translated by Gematsu:
“As of the end of last week, on March 31, I resigned from Monolith Soft, which I belonged to for about 16 years. I was involved with works from Xenosaga Episode I to Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean to Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier EXCEED to Project X Zone 2, but to everyone who supported me and worked with me, and above all else to those who played the games, thank you very much!”

HAL Laboratory developed various parts of Switch
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 20 Comments
HAL Laboratory isn’t traditionally associated with working directly on Nintendo hardware. Fans are likely more aware of the company for having worked on the Kirby and Smash Bros. franchises, among many other titles.
For Switch though, HAL was directly involved with the hardware’s creation. They developed the following parts of the system:
– Web browser component
– Mii library
– Game development environments
– Game development tools
The Web browser components are used for following parts:
– Connect Switch to a Nintendo Account
– eShop
– Posting screenshots to SNS
– And more
Those who are in the photo below are the actual staffers who joined in during development. 32 people in total are pictured.

Video: A better look at Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s frame rate improvement with version 1.1.1
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch, Wii U | 42 Comments
A new patch for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was delivered this week. Although Nintendo kept quiet about specifics, players quickly noticed that the game’s performance had been improved. Areas with frame rate drops were improved in version 1.1.1.
NX Gamer published a video yesterday that provides a good look at the performance improvements by showing what the frame rate was like before and after the update. You can watch it below, but note that one of the villages is shown.
