Rumor: New Paper Mario game in the works for Wii U, now being localized and tested
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 138 Comments
Earlier today, Emily Rogers posted several tweets about a rumor she heard pertaining to an unannounced Wii U game from Nintendo. This is based on information that she, along with two other people, gathered from numerous sources. We originally thought that we’d have to wait until Monday for the actual rumor, but the speculation was just now posted instead.
Rumor has it that Intelligent Systems has been developing a new Paper Mario entry for Wii U. It’s now being localized and tested, which suggests that the game could be coming sooner rather than later. At the very least, an announcement in the future would be likely assuming the rumor is true.
Rumor: 5 sources told us a new Paper Mario will be announced this year for Wii U. Developed by Intelligent Systems.

Dementium Remastered hitting Europe on Feb. 11, Dementium II Remastered in Q2
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 1 Comment
Dementium Remastered’s European (and Australian) release is approaching. It’s been approved by Nintendo, and the game is targeted for launch on February 11.
When Dementium Remastered arrives in Europe, it will incorporate an update that has bug fixes and addresses an issue with occasional crashes when entering the map during puzzle sections. Players in North America will have access to the patch a little later.
Renegade Kid is also still tinkering away on Dementium II remastered. The studio hopes to submit it to Nintendo in both North America and Europe at the same time. Look for it in Q2 2016.
LEGO Marvel’s Avengers has an open world hub on 3DS
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 5 Comments
In the past, handheld versions of the LEGO games have been a bit compromised. Warner Bros. and TT Games usually deliver a different experience which doesn’t really match the console versions. With LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, however, the team has managed to include “a full free-roaming open world hub city”.
Director Steve Thornton wrote in a LEGO.com blog post:
“I’m incredibly pleased to announce that for the first time ever, we have a full free-roaming open world hub city on handheld; a full 1:1 scale rendition of the console Manhattan city hub is playable on both Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, with no breaks, cuts or loading screens. Although capturing the console scale was important to us, we knew we couldn’t sacrifice life or activity, so the handheld city is also fully populated with traffic and pedestrian systems, props and Free Play content. In fact, there are over 100 Free Play objects in the city, connected to 15 handheld exclusive ‘hub challenges’
Listening to fans, we also know that although gamers value exclusive content, they also want the console and handheld experiences to become ever closer and offer the same feel and features. On this project we’ve worked closer with the console team than ever before, to ensure that the core features that define the LEGO Marvel’s Avengers experience are fully present on handheld. Many of these are traversal mechanics for blasting, boosting and leaping your way through the open world hub, including not only the Iron Man flight system and Quicksilver super speed, but the awesome Hyper Jump and Super Climb mechanics that bigger characters like Hulk can use to charge jump through the streets and smash up the side of skyscrapers. We spent a long time tweaking and balancing these mechanics to ensure they had the right weight and responsiveness, and they feel genuinely great to use.

Rumor about an unannounced, Nintendo-published Wii U game to be shared next week
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 139 Comments
Update: Rumor has come in early – potential new Paper Mario game. See this post.
This is sort of a new one! We have an announcement about a rumor coming sometime next week (update: Monday, see added forth tweet below).
Emily Rogers, Liam Robertson, and ShockingAlberto from NeoGAF have supposedly managed to dig up information regarding a new Wii U title. This is a Nintendo-published game as opposed to a third-party release. There’s apparently a decent amount of evidence behind the rumor, as 4-5 sources have provided information.
Rogers shared these messages on Twitter:
So me, @Doctor_Cupcakes, and @Imranzomg (ShockingAlberto on NeoGaf) will share a rumor next week regarding an unannounced Wii U game.
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
We have about 4-5 sources that this unannounced Wii U game exists. And a lot of evidence behind it. @Doctor_Cupcakes @imranzomg
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
For the record, this Wii U game is published by Nintendo. It's not a third party game. @Doctor_Cupcakes @imranzomg
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
There's no secrecy. We just need the weekend to look over all the information. We'll spill the beans Monday. https://t.co/iVgTWbYKqz
— Emily Rogers (@Emi1yRogers) January 22, 2016
Knowing Emily, I don’t think she would be putting these tweets out there if she didn’t feel confident in her sources. Still, it’s important to keep in mind that this will be a rumor at the end of the day instead of something that’s being claimed as actual fact. We’ll see what happens come next week!
