Ubisoft believes Watch Dogs will be one of this year’s best-selling games
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 13 Comments
Ubisoft has very high expectations for Watch Dogs. With “hugely promising” pre-orders, the company thinks its open-world game will be one of the best-selling titles this year and “one of the best selling new IPs in recent memory”.
Ubisoft’s Wayne Greenwell told MCV:
“Excitement for the product remains incredibly high and gamers are desperate to finally get their hands on the title. This is reflected in our pre-orders which are hugely promising for a new IP and highlights the enthusiasm that has surrounded the product since it was first unveiled to the world.
“With Watch Dogs, Ubisoft is building a new blockbuster brand to stand alongside other top tier triple-A titles and we expect it to be not only one of the best selling new IPs in recent memory, but also one of the best selling titles throughout 2014.”
Ubisoft has significant marketing plans in store for Watch Dogs. This include a tech-focused marketing campaign (such as apps and live streaming technology), along with TV, print and online ads.

Rumor: Ubisoft making new 2D Prince of Persia with UbiArt Framework engine
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 1 Comment
Ubisoft is rumored to be making a new 2D Prince of Persia game built with the UbiArt Framework engine – the same tech used in the creation of Rayman Legends and Child of Light.
French website Le Portail du Jeu Video claims that the title utilizes “the same techniques of animation [as used] in the last Rayman” and has the Prince’s body “divided into several parts (torso, pelvis, leg, shin, foot, forearm, hands, etc..) that can be animated independently of each other.”
The site goes on to say, “This provides a real diversity / credibility in the postures and movements of the hero…. The quality of the work is to believe [it is] 3D modelling [with] transitions [that are] are fluid and feel well made.”
Officially, Ubisoft has said that the publisher “does not comment on rumours or speculation”.
