Zelda fans have asked series producer Eiji Aonuma a few things about A Link Between Worlds. You can find his full responses below.

Sonic’s transition from 2D to 3D was less than ideal. Not all 3D Sonic games have been terrible, but it wasn’t until we saw releases such as Sonic Lost World and Sonic Unleashed that the series began to hits its stride once again.

Speaking with Nintendo Life, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka did acknowledge that “there was a struggle in 3D Sonic games.” He said:

“Yes there was a struggle in 3D Sonic games. From the 1st 3D type Sonic game Sonic Adventure, we tried various levels and environment in 3D. This is because we felt there is more possibility for improvement in 3D type Sonic. So in Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations, we added new gameplay on top of the existing Sonic titles to make a high quality game.”

Iizuka also commented on Dimps’ dedication in creating a fully realized 3D Sonic title on 3DS in Sonic Lost World:

“One feature in Sonic Lost World is 360 degrees action, so the challenge on 3DS was to apply this 3D action game in 360 degrees action like in Wii U. Of course we couldn’t make it exactly the same, but by using the same texture as Wii U, applying the twisted levels, how you see and feel should be very close to the experience you get from Wii U version.”

A strange scene has been discovered in Pokemon X/Y. Step inside a building in Luminose City (the one with a dojo), enter the elevator, and leave on the second floor.

What happens next is… odd. A cutscene will automatically be shown – the lights flicker and a girl will appear behind you before stating “… you are not the one…” and floating away.

The same girl can be found on the fourth floor of Hotel Richissime. If you try to speak with her, she’ll say, “Don’t talk to me…. if you do, I can’t hear the elevator…”

So what could this be about?

Nintendo UK made a big deal out of its new pre-order bonus – the musical treasure chest – for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. In fact, series producer Eiji Aonuma and Nintendo president Satoru Iwata went out of their way to promote the item in a special Vine clip.

But here’s the thing – we’re now hearing GAME won’t be offering the item, even though Nintendo named it as the retailer you could obtain the treasure chest from.

Tweets published by GAME yesterday read:

It’s unclear how the pre-order item will be handled at present. Perhaps it’ll shift to another retailer?

If you plan on downloading Wii Party U, you’ll need to reserve roughly 5.414GB (5514MB) of space. That’s how big the European version is, and the North American release should be very similar in size. Wii Party U will also be offered at retail.
