Along with this image, director Masahiro Sakurai used Miiverse to fill everyone in on a few neat additions to Little Mac’s moveset. Sakurai posted:

Pic of the day. Little Mac’s side smash attack is his straight right punch…but it can transform into an uppercut if you tilt diagonally upward, or a body hook if you tilt diagonally downward. The body hook is the most devastating of these moves and it doesn’t blast the opponents away.

The trick in activating these punches is to avoid tilting the controls diagonally from the get go–instead, tilt up or down right after the smash attack starts kicking in. You can also tilt up or down while you’re powering up.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds both offer Hero modes. In the former title, it’s accessible right away. But in A Link Between Worlds, players must complete the game before tackling the more difficult mode.

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma discussed why this is so while speaking with ONM. In the magazine’s latest issue, he explained that some gamers may have already played Wind Waker on GameCube, but since A Link Between Worlds is brand new, the team “felt that it was more suitable to have the players first enjoy the game at an appropriate difficulty level and then let them try a harder challenge.”

Aonuma’s comments in full:

Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land is off to a great start for Marvelous AQL. Media Create data reveals that the game sold 130,782 units in its first week in Japan, making it the biggest opening for a Harvest Moon title in recent years.

Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land did better than its predecessor, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, which sold 81,131 copies in its first week. Siliconera points out that Harvest Moon as well as Rune Factory have been growing since moving to 3DS.

When you boot up Yoshi’s New Island for the first time, you’ll be presented with the screen above. Players are asked if they’re willing to share gameplay data that will be used “to help develop games in the future.” Interesting.

What’s sent to Nintendo is unclear. It’s also unclear how often data is uploaded, but information will eventually reach the company online.
