Jake Hunter: Ghost of the Dusk announced for 3DS
Posted on 7 years ago by Jake in 3DS | 1 Comment
Jake Hunter: Ghost of the Dusk has been announced for 3DS by Arc System Works. The game will be the latest entry in the Jake Hunter detective series, and it will be released in Japan as a 30th anniversary project.
The announcement comes alongside Arc System Works acquiring the rights to the Jake Hunter IP, along with three other series: Theresia, Nazo no Jikenbo series, and Koneko no Ie. Titles in the series have rarely been released outside of Japan, so we’ll have to wait and see if this newest entry does.

Square Enix is back with more news about Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional. Even though it’s the weekend, the company shares new details and screenshots about Speed Road and Demon King Class Monsters. Find the content rounded up below, courtesy of Gematsu.
Speed Road
– In Break World, where the protagonist and other characters live, there is a secret practice facility called “Masters Road” that only monster masters can challenge
– A secret facility has also been discovered in the World of Incarnus
– Here, a new adventure will take place known as “Speed Road”
– The only thing this facility requires is technique
– Ride your favorite monster and run through the decided course like a race with your eyes on the goal
– At the goal, you can receive a great number of rewards, which you won’t want to miss getting if you’re a monster master
– Speed Road’s entrance is in the middle of nowhere
– Discovering the entrance is also one of your tests as a monster master
– Monsters will block your path on the course
– Skillfully slip through them while collecting the crystals that drop on the course and aim for the goal
– Crystals come in all shapes and sizes
– The bigger the crystals, the higher your score
– Use SP (Special) Items to brush away enemies for a short time
– Get crystals from defeated enemies
– After reaching the goal, you’ll receive a reward depending on your score
– Collect a lot of crystals to get a premium item
– Various stages to take on
Demon King Class Monsters
– Demon King class monsters that have appeared in the Dragon Quest series will continue to appear in this game
– Making friends with the monsters that stood before you as formidable enemies, and then adventuring together, is a feature unique to the Monsters series
– Won’t be easy to befriend the monsters
– Demon King Omudo Rex (from Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light): the huge weapon Omudo Lores created its own personality in order to think and grow on its own; everything it does is in order to carry out the commands of its master
– Aldarala (from Hoshi no Dragon Quest): loves slaughter more than anything; exerts itself to the limits of brutality, so it is said to get excited and become unable to sleep at night
– True Demon King Zaram (from Dragon Quest Heroes II): monster who took the chalice filled with the power of darkness into its body and became a True Demon King whose power surpasses that of a god

Monster Hunter XX has a collaboration with the Kingdom manga
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 1 Comment
Capcom revealed yet another collaboration for Monster Hunter XX this week. The Japanese 3DS game is teaming up with Kingdom, a manga series in Japan.
The collaboration comes in the form of a sword and shield weapon called Xin’s Sword. The sword is inherited by Xin from his friend, and the shield depicts a hot-blooded general.
Thanks to Jake for the tip.

XSEED trying to decide what to do about Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns’ DLC in the west
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 11 Comments
XSEED has found itself in a bind with Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns’ downloadable content. The new content could either be sold as paid DLC, or abandoned entirely.
XSEED explained a blog post:
“The total size of the DLC is over 200,000 Japanese characters, making it as large as some games we’ve released. The first Corpse Party, for example, has about 210,000 characters.
The last round of DLC was released in Japan in mid-December, which means that the Japanese text was completed after we’d entered the QA and submission phase of localizing the main game. With DLC of this size, including it in the game would have been impossible under our schedule. It would have forced us to release months after we’d originally planned.
Concept for Europe’s original Senran Kagura Burst boxart shown
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 5 Comments
Senran Kagura Burst could have ended up with a very different boxart for Europe. Originally, PQube was toying around with an idea that “would have featured Hikage, and would have had a plastic sleeve around the box that would slide off. Hikage’s out clothing would have been on the sleeve only, so that peeling off the sleeve would mimic Senran Kagura‘s well-known clothing destruction feature.”
The image below is what PQube went with for the final product. While the initial idea was abandoned, head of marketing Geraint Evans says it could be revisited at some point.

Third Pokemon Global Mission is a success
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 3 Comments
It took a few tries, but a Pokemon Global Mission has finally been successful. Pokemon Sun/Moon players were tasked with making one million trades at the GTS, and it looks like that goal has been reached. Players will receive 2,000 Festival Coins as a result.
You still have until February 14 at 00:00 UTC to participate. If two million trades are registered by then, a Friend Ball will also be given out as a reward.
