Atlus’ new trailer for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight shows off the game’s protagonist – a new element of the 3DS remake. Watch the video above, and read up on some information below.

When you start down the path of Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold’s Story mode (as opposed to Classic mode!), you take charge as the game’s protagonist — a sworn bodyguard of Princess Arianna! One of the first places you head to is called Ginnungagap, which naturally should be devoid of any monsters or anything else dangerous. Right? Right.

Oh wait no, this is an Etrian Odyssey game. Peril will come at you from around every corner, and that’s without taking into consideration the ever-present threat of FOEs ruining your day. Fortunately, not only is the protagonist a skilled bodyguard, but he also can harness the power of the Fafnir and can transform into a beastly demonic form to access new abilities in the heat of battle.

Of course, how he got this power and what it means is an entirely different story altogether; the only way to find out about it is to play through EO2U’s Story mode!
