2D arena shooter Gunkid 99 heading to Switch next week

Publisher Top Hat Studios along with developer Yongjustyong have announced that Gunkid 99, a 2D arena shooter, is about to make an appearance on Switch. The game is set for a digital release next week.
Rather than focusing on your enemies, the goal in Gunkid 99 is to collect guns when the timer is ticking. The primary goal in the game is to earn as high a score as you can by collecting weapon drops throughout a run.

Kingdom Two Crowns announces Norse Lands DLC

Today, publisher Raw Fury and developer Stumpy Squid announced Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands, the first premium DLC for the game. It will go live for Switch on November 16.
Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands, which is inspired by Norse culture and mythology, features a new campaign with a brand-new setting and unique challenges. Players will establish and defend a kingdom, explore the world, conquer, and unleash abilities drawn upon from Norse gods. They’ll have to solve challenging puzzles, build Viking-inspired armaments, and command Norse units in order to take on a new and powerful enemy.

Publisher Blowfish Studios and developer Drakkar Dev have announced a final release date for Blackwind, a sci-fi action-platformer with hack-and-slash combat. The game will be available digitally on January 20, 2022. Fans can also purchase a physical version in Europe starting on January 21 with North American copies releasing later on.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 reveals Kale (Super Saiyan 2), DLC out this week

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s new Legendary Pack 2 is just a few days away, and it’s been revealed that Kale (Super Saiyan 2) is joining the game. A free update is going live on November 4, with the actual DLC arriving one day later on November 5.
Kale will be playable in Legendary Pack 2 in her Super Saiyan 2 form thanks to Legendary Pack 2. She has the Ultimate Attack “Blaster Stream”, Super Attack “Blaster Cannon”, and Super Attack “Blaster Bomb”.

NIS America has set a final release date for The Cruel King and the Great Hero outside of Japan. In North America, the game is set for March 1, 2022. Those in Europe can pick up the title on March 4.

Former Nintendo developer Giles Goddard has provided a first look at a prototype for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time that originally featured portals.
Earlier this year, we heard from Goddard that there was some experimentation very early on with an idea involving Hyrule Castle. Similar to Super Mario 64, players would access different parts of the map through these portals. The mechanic was ultimately scrapped and Nintendo ended up going with a more open design in the end as players visit areas by traveling through Hyrule Field.
Nintendo to produce 20% fewer Switch consoles due to chip shortage

According to a Nikkei report, Nintendo will be making 20 percent fewer Switch consoles amid the chip shortage that has been affecting the entire industry as well as technology as a whole. Availability of semiconductors and other electronic parts continues to be limited.
In the fiscal year through March, Nintendo originally hoped to produce 30 million Switch units due to strong demand. That target later changed to 25.5 million. Nikkei’s report indicates that this number will fall further to 24 million units, which is 20 percent below the original goal.
