Nintendo Switch

Following up on last week’s major update, another firmware upgrade has been released for Switch. All users can now access version 11.0.1.

Today’s update addresses a few issues that were introduced with version 11.0.1. Specifically, it fixes the following:

The Game Awards 2020

As is a yearly tradition, the Switch eShop is hosting a new sale to celebrate The Game Awards 2020. Astral Chain, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Super Mario Odyssey, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild are among the discounts.

Earlier today, Nintendo confirmed that a new character would be revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during The Game Awards 2020. The company was true to its word, announcing that Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII is joining the game.

Quantic Dream and Jo-Mei Games are bringing Sea of Solitude to Switch, the two companies announced today. A release is planned for March 4, 2021.

Rather than a simple port, the team has reworked the game. There will be a new script, new voices, new Photo Mode, and gyroscopic support.

Nintendo Switch

Switch sold over 1.35 million units in the United States last month and was the best-selling console of November, Nintendo has announced. The system continued its streak as the best-selling system for 24 consecutive months.

Switch sales in 2020 have surpassed 6.92 million units, “surpassing in 11 months the total number of systems sold in all of 2019 by over 426,000,” Nintendo says.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story was only announced a couple of months ago, but the game was targeting an early 2021 launch. That’s unfortunately no longer in the cards with publisher Riot Forge and developer Airship Syndicate confirming a delay today. There’s no word on a new window aside from a vague 2021 window.

Heaven's Vault

Heaven’s Vault, a narrative adventure game first announced for Switch in September 2019, now has a release date. The game will arrive on Nintendo’s console on January 28, 2021.
