[Interview] Fairy Tail producer on creator’s involvement, battle system, story, more

Koei Tecmo and Gust surprised fans last month when they announced that a brand new RPG is in development based on the Fairy Tail manga / anime. Following the reveal, Nintendo Everything was able to speak with producer Keisuke Kikuchi.
During our chat, Kikuchi discussed a few aspects of the game, including the battle system and story. He also talked about the involvement from Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima. Oh, and we asked about Fatal Frame, because we absolutely had to.

Halloween tour in Mario Kart Tour to add playable King Boo

As previously mentioned, the Halloween tour is starting in Mario Kart Tour on October 22. Luigi had already been confirmed as playable, and now the same can be said of King Boo as well. Nintendo says he has “his own special skill that’s surely fit for a king”.

Nintendo maintenance schedule – October 20, 2019

Forager “Combat” and “Appreciation” updates expected on Switch in the near future

Forger has had a couple of big patches over the past few months. Specifically, the “Combat” and “Appreciate” updates add new areas, modes, features and more. Neither of these have been on Switch yet, but they’ll be released in due time.
Developer HopFrog said on Twitter this week that console updates are handled by another team. That being said, the “Combat” and “Appreciation” patches should be hitting “soon”.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger Switch announcement teased for next week

Techland has started sending out Old West-themed postcards to members of the press, teasing a reveal of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger for Switch. An image on the front shows a gunslinger playing on the device so it’s quite clear what this is about. Additionally, the back teases more news to come on October 24 at 12 AM PT / 3 PM ET / 8 PM in the UK / 9 PM in Europe.
Techland previously teased an announcement for Switch earlier in the year. On top of that, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was recently rated for Switch by the ESRB, which had all but confirmed the port.
Blizzard on why it was late bringing Overwatch to Switch, says it “feels great” despite lower frame rate

Overwatch first arrived in 2016, though it has just now landed on Switch. Director Jeff Kaplan explained why it took some time for Blizzard to release its game on the platform in an interview with Ars Technica.
Blizzard’s Wes Yanagi reconfirmed that Overwatch for Switch first came to be a year ago, around the time that Diablo III came to the system. Kaplan said that the team was initially a bit reluctant to move ahead with porting Overwatch since they knew it wouldn’t look just how it does on PC, but eventually got past that hurdle and realized that it’s not all about graphics.
