Worms W.M.D arrived on Switch this past week. Different multiplayer options are included in the game, such as local play and online support.

The one downside with online play is that it isn’t really easy to connect for friends. It’s true that you can find other players in lobbies. However, directly inviting friends isn’t possible, which Team17 partially attributed to Switch’s lack of system-wide invite feature.

Three Nintendo-related mobile titles have been nominated for Google Play’s Best of 2017 award in Japan. 17 other games have been nominated as well. The lineup of eligible titles were chosen based on several factors, including the number of installations and user reviews.

Fans can vote for their favorite here. The “Top 5” will be announced on December 1. Then on December 4, the “Playtime Best” will be announced.

One of the new games that entered the UK charts this past week was L.A. Noire. In terms of individual formats, the Switch version came in at #36. It was also #6 on the Switch-specific chart.

Additional data reveals the sales split for all versions of L.A. Noire. On Switch, 20% of all copies were sold. PS4 took the top share with 51%, followed by Xbox One with 26%.

What can we make of these numbers? Well, Switch wasn’t terribly behind Xbox One’s share. With a lower installed base, perhaps it’s not a terrible debut.

Rocket League has seen tremendous growth in popularity and players over the past few years since its original release, and also now cements itself as one of the largest eSports franchises in the world. At the same time, it remains easy to pick up and play for the casual gamer to enjoy. Although we’ve seen a surge in online multiplayer titles for quite awhile now, Rocket League maintains a dedicated and respectful consumer base thanks to its low cost of entry, hours of fun, and, most importantly, no pay-to-win nonsense. The cars won’t run faster, but having something like the Batmobile will definitely make you look cooler than most out on the field (besides the incredible Metroid car, of course).

Nintendo eShop

Earlier in the week, Nintendo started a Cyber Deals sale on the eShops. Games like I Am Setsuna, 1-2 Switch, and a few other were discounted on Switch in addition to Wii U and 3DS.

Aside from what specific sale, a slew of other titles have been discounted. The likes of Has-Been Heroes, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, The Mummy Demastered, This is the Police, and more can be had at lower prices.
