Switch update 18.1.0

Nintendo just started distribution of the latest Switch update, and version 18.1.0 is rolling out now.

It was previously announced that the system would be losing X integration. With today’s update, that has been removed. It affects the Album, Smash World on the Switch Online app, and Splatoon 2 are affected. Additionally, Nintendo also removed the ability to link social media accounts in “Friend Suggestions” entirely.

Also, it wouldn’t be complete without stability improvements. Nintendo says that’s included as well.

Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door review

System: Switch
Release date: May 23, 2024
Developer: Intelligent Systems
Publisher: Nintendo

Switch has proven itself quite the bastion for turn-based RPGs, but the GameCube of over two decades ago didn’t get quite the same treatment. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was one of just a handful of games where the eager adventurer could whet their appetite for grinding battles to level up, collecting money, and adding to their item stash at every new town. Monopoly

Ubisoft today announced Monopoly, its latest take on the legendary board game. It will be available this September on Switch.

Here’s the official description:

There’s yet another special Tera Raid Battle event on the way for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, this time featuring Emboar.

Shadow x Sonic Generations Chao Garden

Following fan speculation that Sonic x Shadow Generations could be bringing back the Chao Garden, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka has confirmed that it won’t be in the game.

Chao Gardens are largely known from their appearance in the Sonic Adventure series. Players can essentially raise Chao as digital pets. Fans have been clamoring for the gameplay feature to return, but we haven’t seen much of it in recent years.
