It was unexpectedly announced yesterday that the physical version of Hollow Knight has been cancelled. We had only heard from Skybound at the time, but Team Cherry has issued its own response now as well.
Team Cherry said that pursuing the retail version “proved more work than we could reasonably manage.” While the company may explore a different way for this to happen in the future, it will probably “be in smaller quantities.”

At PAX Aus 2018 a couple of weeks ago, Eric managed to catch up with Dave Crooks from Dodge Roll. Crooks had plenty to say about Enter the Gungeon, but also the studio’s next game.
Crooks told us that a “pseudo sequel to Gungeon” could come next “in the sense that it would be like of a similar tone and a similar art style and such”. Also, while Enter the Gungeon didn’t have multiplayer, this is a possibility for the upcoming project since the team is currently building the proper tools for it this time around.

Rad Rodgers was first thought to be coming to Switch after it was listed on GameFly. That retailer page has since been removed, but we have more evidence that it’s happening.
The ESRB just rated Rad Rodgers for Switch this week. Now that the classification is secured, we could be seeing it sooner rather than later. THQ Nordic may have an announcement very soon as well.

Earlier this year, Team Cherry and Skybound Games announced a partnership to publish a physical version of Hollow Knight. Sadly, the deal has fallen through.
Skybound said on Twitter a short while ago that it is no longer working with Team Cherry on Hollow Knight. Team Cherry itself has not yet provided a statement.
It might be possible that Hollow Knight will be receiving a physical copy, but it won’t be with Skybound. We’ll keep you updated on any future developments.
