Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze finally has a listing on the North American Switch eShop, and pre-loading is now available. That means you can be ready for the launch of the digital version by paying for the game in advance and downloading the required data. Then on launch day, you’ll just have to connect to the internet one time to begin playing.

Just in case you’re curious, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze can also be pre-loaded in Europe. That option has actually been available for quite some time.

May is going to be a busy month for Switch, and that’s expanding with one additional game. Team17 and Villa Gorilla have announced that the pinball platform adventure Yoku’s Island Express is launching on May 29. Pricing is set at $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99.

Nintendo has updated the Japanese website for Nintendo Labo with a bunch of cardboard parts. The Variety and Robot Kits are both represented here, so they can come in handy if you happen to break or misplace something. The full set of parts can be found here.

We’ve known for a while now that Daedalic Entertainment’s futuristic adventure game State of Mind would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Today, the developer announced that the game will finally be released in August 2018. They also confirmed that the game is getting a physical release, as you can see by the game’s boxart above. It’s the end of week, which means another new weapon is coming to Splatoon 2. The Custom Range Blaster is identical to the regular Range Blaster in terms of stats, but comes with the Curling Bomb sub-weapon and the Bubble Blower special instead. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

The latest issue of Weekly Jump magazine contained some new information on Dragon Quest Builders 2 (thanks to Gematsu for the translation). First up, some details on the game’s story: when the protagonist is washed ashore on the vacant island where the game takes place, they hear a mysterious voice telling them to go to the top of the island’s mountain. There, they find a mysterious stone monument bearing five crests. There are also numerous stone pillars on the island which are engraved with trials, which the protagonist must pass if they want to become a “Master Builder”.

There are also some new and improved gameplay elements compared to the first game, such as diving, gliding with the wind mantle, dashing, waterfalls and making diagonally-shaped blocks.

“Outrage Smasher” Group Match is a team based battle competition on a fixed arena, you will receive various titles for participating in the matches. Matches will last til April 23rd. The next one has also been announced as “Volt Shock Fist” and will start up April 25th.
