Night Slashers Remake physical

Rainy Frog will be producing a physical release for Night Slashers: Remake on Nintendo Switch in Japan, the company has announced. It’s due out on February 20, 2025.

Night Slashers: Remake previously made it to Nintendo Switch in the west. However, thus far, it’s only been available as a digital download. Now fans will have the option to add a physical version to their library. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the physical release will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. Nintendo Switch is region free, so importing a copy won’t be an issue.

Animal Crossing New Horizons best-selling physical game

Animal Crossing: New Horizons set another record within the past few days, and it has now become the best-selling physical game of all time in Japan.

Famitsu reported today that for the week of December 16, another 15,536 copies were sold at retail. That brings the game’s total physical sales to 8,008,343. No other game in Japan has ever managed to reach that mark – Pokemon Red and Greed previously held the record having sold 7.93 million copies. If digital sales were included, the number for Animal Crossing: New Horizons would definitely be much higher.

The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

Road59 Shin Jidai Ninkyou Tokku - Matenrou Monochrome Kousou

Publisher Bushiroad Games and developer Rocket Studio are teaming up on the new project Road59: Shin Jidai Ninkyou Tokku – Matenrou Monochrome Kousou, the two sides have announced. A release is scheduled for Fall 2025.

Road59: Shin Jidai Ninkyou Tokku – Matenrou Monochrome Kousou is a visual novel. Alongside Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese will be supported.

Guilty Gear Strive Queen Dizzy

Guilty Gear Strive will be landing on Nintendo Switch not too long from now, and Arc System Works has now announced that Queen Dizzy will be available on that console in February 2025. The character will be offered as a free update. As of now, we don’t have a specific date.

Queen Dizzy initially released as paid DLC for other platforms back in October. She’s the first character in Season Pass 4, which also features Venom, Unika, and Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

Here’s some information about Queen Dizzy:

By now, just about everyone involved in the Nintendo sphere knows or has heard about EarthBound in some way, shape, or form. The game went on to inspire many of today’s popular indie titles, and it’s since become a cult classic among its fans. EarthBound – which is actually the second game in its series – was released in the United States in 1995. It didn’t sell very well, however, thanks at least in part to a poor marketing campaign. It turns out, selling your game with the tagline “this game stinks” doesn’t make people more likely to buy your product!

Secret Neighbor + Hello Engineer physical

Retailer listings have popped up for Secret Neighbor + Hello Engineer – otherwise known as The Neighborhood Bundle – for Nintendo Switch. It will be available on February 25, 2025.

Both of these games were previously made available as digital titles. Secret Neighbor hit Nintendo Switch in 2021 while Hello Engineer followed in 2023. We have coverage of the two games here and here respectively.

SoulQuest

SoulQuest, which is being made by SoulBlade Studio and Tomas J Pereyra, will be released on Switch. Launch timing has yet to be decided.

SoulQuest is a hack-and-slash platformer with combat inspired by well-known franchises like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. Those are a couple of hardcore series, but this project features a vibrant pixel art style and a Celtic mythology-based world.
