Fading Afternoon Uncensored Edition heading to Nintendo Switch with physical release [update: release date]

April 9: Fading Afternoon debuted digitally on Nintendo Switch last year, but physical publisher and distributor Tesura Games has now announced a new Uncensored Edition. It will be available later in 2025.
Fading Afternoon Uncensored Edition will include explicit scenes, gambling, blood, and events that were missing in the original version. The physical release also includes a comic booklet.

Nintendo has come through with the latest update on its release schedule, which is shared for May 2025 via its financial results documents.
A few Nintendo Switch games are here – notably ones revealed at the end of March – but we also see first titles for Switch 2. That means Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and more are present.

With Stardew Valley having made its initial appearance almost a decade ago, some fans might be wondering if we could see a sequel one day. Developer ConcernedApe has now weighed in on the possibility.
ConcernedApe was asked about whether or not we could see a follow-up during the Tiger Belly Podcast. The developer is open to the idea, but at the same time, brought up how it’s much easier to add content to the existing game rather than make a whole new one. Additionally, ConcernedApe has Haunted Chocolatier on its hands as its next project, which was announced over three years ago.

Nordic Ashes: Ultimate Edition seeing Nintendo Switch release

Nordic Ashes: Ultimate Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch, Noxfall Studios has announced. A digital release is scheduled for June, but there’ll be a physical release later in 2025.
Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok is a Norse inspired roguelite-survivor game. Players will take on hordes of creatures throughout the experience.
Nikoderiko: The Magical World – Director’s Cut getting Nintendo Switch physical release

Nikoderiko: The Magical World – Director’s Cut is getting a physical release. Knights Peak, VEA Games, and U&I Entertainment are teaming up for the launch.
Two editions will be available: a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition. The Deluxe Edition includes an exclusive art book featuring never-before-seen illustrations, a CD soundtrack composed by David Wise, and the base game. Pre-orders will be opening soon.

City Connection, Clear River Games, G.rev, and Take x Off today announced Mamorukun ReCurse for Nintendo Switch. The game launches later in 2025.
We originally reported on plans to bring back Mamorukun Curse last year. However, it wasn’t clear what form the project would be taking at the time. With today’s announcement, we now know that it’s a full remaster of the arcade shooter with widescreen format and modern twin-stick controls.

Nintendo says it may monitor and record chat sessions in updated privacy policy

Nintendo has updated its privacy, and it includes a note that it “may collect, monitor and record audio and video of your chat sessions with other users to provide a safe and secure environment for certain of our services”.
This news comes ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, which includes the GameShare feature and ability to communicate with friends. Nintendo previously confirmed that the functionality includes a report feature.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter gets an official release date

GungHo and Falcom have announced that Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter has locked in a release date of September 19, 2025. Alongside the release date, more of the Japanese voice cast was detailed in this week’s Famitsu magazine.
The turn-based RPG was originally announced in a 2024 as The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, and is a remake of 2004’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. This will mark the game’s first appearance on a Nintendo console and will include fully voice-acted cutscenes in English and Japanese, various changes to the gameplay, and a fully 3D art style.
