As part of a January financial update today, co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot mentioned how “surprised” they were by its “underperformance in the final weeks of 2022 and early January.” Just Dance 2023 Edition was another game Ubisoft called out as an underperformer.
Ubisoft appears to be facing some tough times on the whole for the time being. Guillemot stated in the same report: “We are clearly disappointed by our recent performance. We are facing contrasted market dynamics as the industry continues to shift towards mega-brands and everlasting live games, in the context of worsening economic conditions affecting consumer spending.”
