REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Who’s ready for adventure? Captain Toad certainly is, but he’s not the only one. Pink-pigtailed Toadette joins Captain Toad and makes her debut as a second playable character in portions of the upcoming Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker game.

Armed with a headlight and a can-do attitude, Captain Toad and Toadette must make their way through enemy-infested locales like Wild West shanties and Goomba waterparks. Each location is bursting with puzzles to solve and secrets to unearth. These heroes need to be extra clever in order to tackle these obstacles, since they can’t jump.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will take up 1.9GB on your Wii U console or external hard drive. Compared to other retail games, that’s actually quite small! Note that save data takes up another 2MB.

Now that Bayonetta 2 is out in Japan and the game has almost arrived in North America/Europe, PlatinumGames’ blog posts for the title are starting to slow down. Still, the company did update its website today with yet another post focusing on tips and tricks from designer Ryoya Sakebe.

Here’s an excerpt:

1) Where’s Loki?!

In the first part of the game’s story you travel with your companion Loki. He is able to transform into a flying squirrel, and while on the move he hangs out within Bayonetta’s substantial bosom. Lucky jerk. But when Bayonetta unleashes the Beast Within and transforms into a Panther, where do you think he goes? Don’t worry, she doesn’t leave him behind!

Have you ever heard of something called the “Desire Sensor”? Those who have played the Monster Hunter titles have speculated about the sensor, which is programming within the games that can detect which loot players are searching for. The loot in question is then automatically made more difficult to find in order to keep gamers playing.

But no: there is no Desire Sensor in Monster Hunter. Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed to Siliconera that this “feature” does not exist.

Tsujimoto said:

“You should probably wear gloves when you play. Try not to sweat, because it’s sensing your nervousness from the sweat on your hands. To be honest, that’s something that’s a popular urban legend. We actually hear that a lot, but it’s just a form of confirmation bias. When you’re looking for something specific, it feels like you never come across it. I myself experience that while playing—we’re all on an even playing field.”

“That (Desire Sensor) is absolutely not a thing. What people are seeing is just confirmation bias.”
