New Pokemon Snap Barren Badlands

New Pokemon Snap has received another clip showing another upcoming area. We now have a look at Barren Badlands, which will be added to the game with a free update early next week.

Here’s a brief introduction:

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water

Recent trailers for the new Switch version of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water have suggested that the game will be digital-only in the west. We’ve followed up with Koei Tecmo, and can confirm that will indeed be the case. A physical version is not planned for North America or Europe.

While that may come as a disappointment, there is some good news. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will have a physical release in Japan and Asia. It also looks like English will be supported – similar to Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, which was digital-only in the west, but had physical versions in other regions.

Play-Asia is taking pre-orders for the physical release of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water on Switch here. The title launches on October 28.

While it was initially thought that Greak: Memories of Azur would only be offered digitally, a physical version is also planned. Sold Out will be bringing the side-scrolling single-player adventure game to retail.

Pre-orders are open at various retailers. You can reserve the game at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.

Greak: Memories of Azur is due out on August 17.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected

Earlier this week, Deep Silver issued a new update for Saints Row IV on Switch. Version 1.7.0 is now available.

This week’s update primarily includes a host of fixes. For the full patch notes, continue on below.

Nintendo Switch OLED

Nintendo is making a pretty big change with its upcoming Switch model. Rather than using another LCD screen, the company has instead decided to go the OLED route.

OLED allows for “vivid colors and crisp contrast,” according to Nintendo. But it also comes with a slight risk. Burn-in can happen with OLED screens, which CNET describes as a portion of an image that “persists as a ghostly background no matter what else appears onscreen.” Fortunately, burn-in is relatively uncommon.

Nintendo itself has also commented on potential concerns when it comes to burn-in with the new Switch OLED model. The company had this to say:

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ latest update was distributed this week, and while it was fairly low-key, that hasn’t stopped fans from datamining. Based on findings, there’s some hope that Nintendo could still have plans to add Brewster’s café.

DodoCode and Animal Crossing World noticed that version 1.11.0 includes a camera parameter change to the code reference ‘IdrMuseumCafe’. Version 1.10 previously added new camera settings for ‘IdrMuseumCafe’ along with a new reference to a third type of Museum entrance known as ‘IdrMuseumEnt03’.
