Another brief interview with Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has emerged from Japan. This time around, it was The Sankei News that published the discussion.
Furukawa commented on a few different topics, including Switch’s success towards the end of 2018. He also weighed in – yet again – on looking to sell 20 million units by the end of the fiscal year, and it’s here that something interesting was said. According to Furukawa, Nintendo is trying to focus on selling Switch and is “not considering a successor or a price cut at this time.” Given the system’s success, perhaps that isn’t an overly surprising statement.

Umihara Kawase Fresh! launches April 25 in Japan and the west

Update: Umihara Kawase Fresh! has been confirmed for an April 25th release in the west as well.
Success Corporation has set a release date for Umihara Kawase Fresh! In Japan at least, the title is slated for April 25. It will be sold physically and digitally.
There are also plans to distribute Umihara Kawase Fresh! outside of Japan. However, a release date has not yet been announced.
Oniken + Odallus Collection physical pre-orders open

Play-Asia has opened pre-orders for the Oniken + Odallus Collection. It will be exclusive to the retailer. If you’re interested in securing a copy, you can reserve it here.
In addition to a standard copy, Play-Asia is offering a limited edition. Only 5,000 copies will be made in total, split between 3,000 for the limited edition and 2,000 for the regular release.a
Knights of Pen and Paper Double Pack pre-orders open

Super Rare Games has opened pre-orders for the Knights of Pen and Paper Double Pack. Two games are included, containing both titles that were originally made available on the Switch eShop.
You can pre-order a copy here. Note that only 3,000 copies will be produced. A release is planned for January 31.

WRC 8 announced for Switch

Bigben and Kylotonn are bringing back the WRC series after a two-year hiatus. Two two sides announced WRC 8 today, and it’s coming to Switch.

We have another round of data based on the latest NPD report, including a bit of recap earlier this week. All told, Switch had a great year having sold 5.6 million units in the United States. The system has also surpassed 10 million units on the whole.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate version 2.0.0 going live soon

It’s been discovered that Nintendo will soon be distributing a new update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Apparently, version 2.0.0 will be going live within the next week based on what exists on the company’s servers. An official announcement should be made very soon.
After Smash Bros. Ultimate has been updated, replays created with previous versions will no longer be accessible. You can convert replays you’re interested in saving now by going to the Vault, then Replays, Replay Data, and finally “Convert to Video”.
