Skylanders SuperChargers Dark Edition (Wii) exclusive to Toys “R” Us
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 6 Comments
Toys “R” Us put up a message on its Twitter account today indicating that it will be selling the Dark Hammer Slam Bowser figure later in the week. Moreover, this tweet was a suggestion of the retailer being the exclusive retailer for the Skylanders/amiibo. Unfortunately, it’s created a big misunderstanding.
Dark Edition Bowser available exclusively at TRU in-store and online this week! Stay tuned!! #Skylanders https://t.co/FsMqrgLmWJ
— ToysRUs (@ToysRUs) July 20, 2015
Toys “R” Us will not be selling the standalone Dark Hammer Slam Bowser figure. Rather, pre-orders will be opening for the Skylanders SuperChargers Dark Edition, which will in fact be exclusive to Toys “R” Us. That makes sense given how Activision previously said that the Dark Edition figures would only be made available through Starter Packs. It’s still a stinky situation since, ultimately, the only way to obtain Dark Hammer Slam Bowser is by purchasing the Dark Edition Starter Pack for Wii at Toys “R” Us.
Unpublished quotes from TIME’s March interview with Satoru Iwata
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii | 5 Comments
Back in March, TIME conducted an interview with Satoru Iwata. Much of the interview was left out of the site’s original report, but with Iwata’s passing, they’ve now been put online for all to see.
In what was likely one of Iwata’s final interviews with a media outlet, he commented on engaging with Nintendo fans in unique ways, the evolution of digital content, the importance of multigenerational design, working on the original Smash Bros., amiibo, and bringing out the Wii.
You may have seen a couple of these comments in shorter form before. However, most of them should be entirely new.
We’ve posted those comments after the break. You can also find TIME’s original article here.

Online multiplayer still works in most of the Call of Duty Wii games
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Random, Wii | 7 Comments
Here’s some random but interesting news. With the exception of World at War (which used GameSpy servers), the Call of Duty games on Wii still have workable online multiplayer. In this day and age when servers tend to be turned off a little quickly, that’s slightly surprising!
