Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is real, and it’s coming to the 3DS.
This week’s Jump reveals that Square Enix is working on a full-blown sequel to Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. It’ll feature over 200 songs, including ones from the upcoming games Final Fantasy XV and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. More than 60 characters and a versus battle mode will be included.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will be released in Japan next spring.
Ubisoft has published a fact sheet for Child of Light, which contains more details about the game. You can find it below.

Key Features
1-UP Studio is now hiring following a restructure earlier this year. The company’s staff count was reduced from over thirty members to just eighteen. Five graphic designers are wanted for field and character elements. New staffers won’t begin work until December.
While not confirmed, it’s possible that 1-UP may be helping out with development of Super Mario 3D World. You may remember that the team, when it was known as Brownie Brown, contributed to Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS.
Child of Light, a platforming RPG, is Ubisoft’s next UbiArt-based project. We finally received confirmation today that the title is heading to the Wii U as an eShop release. The game’s first trailer is posted above. A whole bunch of details that we posted on our sister site last month are located here.
Monster Hunter 4 is just a few days away from releasing in Japan, but Capcom is still updating the game’s official website. The latest content covers two more monsters – Rathalos and Zinogre. Screenshots and details for both can be found below.
Rathalos
– Spews flame
– Uses speed and flight to attack hunters below
– Often called the King of the Sky
– His rookery (also houses his wife Rathian) overlooks his territory easily from on high
– Tip of his tail has poison
– When he ground slams hunters to the floor is more than happy to take a healthy bite out of daring foes
Zinogre
– Thunder dragon
– Uses lightning and thunder while rending swipes of his razor-sharp claws and long tail lashes
– Sometimes calls on surrounding lightning bugs to grant him super-charged powers
– If this happens, Zinogre’s lightning strikes will annihilate everyone around him
A few months ago, there was talk of Tribute Games becoming a licensed Nintendo developer. Some thought such news could result in a Wii U version of Mercenary Kings. However, while we’ve received official confirmation of Tribute’s dev status, the studio informed us that there aren’t any plans at present to bring the game over to Nintendo’s console.
Tribute co-founder Jean-Francois Major explained: “Considering the size of our team, we have to pick our battles.” For now, the company is focused on completing the PlayStation 4 and PC versions.
“In the end, we pick where we go to next based on where we see getting the biggest audience. A lot of people have been asking for a Vita port, not so much a Wii U one. So it can always help us guide our decisions.”
On the bright side, we were told that as former Game Boy Advance developers, Tribute “would love to go back on Nintendo consoles at some point.”
