Well folks, it’s happened – Nintendo held their first Direct of 2023, and it was jam-packed with some incredible surprises! From the surprise launch of Metroid Prime Remastered to the triumphant return of Level 5, the showcase revealed info on a ton of new and upcoming games, with a little something for everyone! This week, join your hosts Nick, Nicolas and Luiz as they discuss all the announcements (big and small!) and which games from the showcase they’re most looking forward to playing. It’s time to get hyped up for a great year of Switch releases!

Limited Run Games provided more information about its physical version of Skelattack for Switch, including a collector’s edition. This was initially announced last June but details weren’t shared at the time.

Both a standard version and collector’s edition – technically dubbed the Classic Edition – are planned. The latter includes the game, the soundtrack, a retro sleeve, and poster in a classic Konami silver box.

Original (2/3): Nintendo and Illumination have shared the official poster for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. All of the major characters are here including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Bowser, and Donkey Kong.

We did see a few posters for The Super Mario Bros. Movie previously. However, these were character-specific. The one pictured above is what will really be used to promote the film.

With Redemption Reapers only being a few days away, a “final” trailer for the game has come in. Fans can get another look at the dark fantasy tactical RPG from Binary Haze Interactive and Adglobe.

The Pixel Hunt today confirmed a release date for The Wreck, its 3D visual novel for Switch. The title launches on March 14, 2023.

The Wreck was previously made known for Switch last August. It was initially planned for 2022, but it was quietly delayed. Thankfully, today’s date appears to be final.

The PowerWash Simulator Final Fantasy VII Midgar Special Pack that was announced just a little while back now has a release date, along with new details and screenshots.

Five levels will be included in total with players working to clear up the mess made by Don Corneo’s lackeys, Professor Hojo’s ‘specimens’ and Heidegger’s dangerous tech. They’ll take on jobs from members of Avalanche as well as Shinra bigshots. While doing the cleaning job, players will discover their stories through text messages.

New dirt types are planned like bio-residue, and some iconic locations will be included. You can find a rundown of the levels below.

Nintendo has announced a final release date for the Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass Wave 1. This is planned to launch on February 28, 2023, the company announced today. It’s a bit surprising since the release window was last planned for this spring.

The Expansion Pass was just revealed during a Nintendo Direct last week. Two parts are planned in total.

We have news about yet another physical release on Switch, this time for Spells & Secrets. Merge Games will be handling distribution.

Spells & Secrets was previously secured for Switch following a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign. Currently it’s targeted to launch in Q2 2023.

Here’s some information about the game:

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet have revealed their latest Tera Raid Battle event, this time featuring Garchomp and Sylveon.

These two creatures will appear more frequently in 4-star and 5-star Tera Raid Battles. Both have various Tera Types, so players will need to prepare wisely before taking them on.
