Publisher Blowfish Studios and developer Sky Machine Studios have announced Winter Ember, an isometric stealth sandbox action game for Switch. It’s currently targeting a 2022 launch on Switch.

Winter Ember has players taking on the role of Arthur Artorias, “the sole survivor of a massacre that devastated your family’s legacy and tore them out of the history books.” While Arthur was thought to be dead, he emerges from exile after eight years and is now seeking vengeance. The game features an adventure “unravelling a dark tale filled with twisted characters, centered around a militant religion hell bent on keeping control.”

This week’s episode of Nintendo Everything Refresh is jam-packed, kicking off with discussion about the new Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes trailer and the gameplay mechanics and story elements it revealed. On top of that, Nintendo recently announced it will be expanding its Kyoto offices, and a mysterious new Bandai-Namco game was inadvertently revealed via a job listing that could be a remaster of a “3D Action” game made by Nintendo. Original (4/18): Konami has unveiled a special limited edition for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, which will include a variety of extras. It includes one-of-a-kind items and exclusive artwork from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.

The special release will be a one-time, limited run production with the following extras:

Publisher No Gravity Games and developer Rage++ have confirmed that Flippin Kaktus, a “brutal action-driven vendetta”, is in the works for Switch. The title will release on May 12, 2022.

Flippin Kaktus is an adventure game at its core, though there are plenty of platforming elements as well. The game stars a “spiky hero with the thorny past” who goes on a journey to save his foster family after a drug cartel raids his home.

Nintendo of America is currently facing a situation in which an unnamed worker has claimed that the company, along with global hiring firm Aston Carter, violated their legally protected right to unionize. A filing complaint was made with the National Labor Relations Board on Friday.

The crux of the matter comes down to the staffer alleging that that Nintendo of America and Aston Carter participated in “concerted activities” and made “coercive actions”. In doing so, this interfered with their legally protected right to organize.

Original (4/18): Sonic Origins had originally been announced last year as an HD compilation of past Sonic games, set to launch in 2022. However, Sega has been very quiet about the project since, leading to speculation of development issues, if not outright cancellation. It seems now that that may not be the case.

A recent Korean rating for the PC version game has just surfaced, giving it a “suitable for all ages” rating. Most importantly, this means a release of Sonic Origins is still in the cards, and could possibly happen sooner rather than later.

Today, Alawar announced that it’s putting They Always Run on Switch. The 2D platformer with a space-western setting is planned for May 19, 2022.

A new update for Minecraft is available, with the game getting version 1.18.30. There’s a lot here, including how worlds can now be created with 64-bit seeds. There are also a bunch of changes to improve damage and hunger calculations, new experimental features, tons of quality of life improvements and bug fixes, and more.

Publisher tinyBuild and developer SURT confirmed today that Rhythm Sprout, a rhythm action game, will be released on Switch. As the project is still very much in development, a release window hasn’t been determined at this time.

The premise behind is that the Vegetable Kingdom is under siege by King Sugar Daddy’s army of sweets. It’s up to the Rhythm Sprout to save the day without missing a beat.
