The Beggar’s Ride came out as a Wii U eShop download in Europe at the very end of March. In North America, we’ll be seeing it this week. The eShop lists a May 5 release date along with a $5.99 price point.
On Friday, we heard about Limited Run Games exploring a potential physical release of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water. But that’s not the only Nintendo game that the company wants to pursue.
Limited Run Games has gone on the record and has mentioned that Phoenix Wright is a series the company is interested in. Specifically, they’d be open to making a physical version of Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies happen.
Here’s what Limited Run Games said on the matter a couple of days ago:
It is a possibility, but like Atelier or other big games we’d be distributing rather than publishing. We’d have to pay a pretty high per unit cost to Capcom and buy 5k+. We haven’t made any progress on Dual Destinies, but it’s a personal want of mine.
HORI has made several GamePad protectors for Wii U as of late, and another one is scheduled for launch in June. Amazon now has a listing up for a new one with a Pokeball theme, which is officially licensed by Nintendo and Pokemon.
This new HORI GamePad protector will set you back $14.99. It should be available starting on June 21.
Here are some additional photos:
It was pretty quiet on the maintenance front last week, but we do have some information about some downtime on Wii U and 3DS happening in a few days from now. All network services, including online play and rankings, will be unavailable during a four hour period on May 10.
Here’s when it’ll be happening:
– 4 AM PT – 8 AM PT
– 7 AM ET – 11 AM ET
– 12 PM in the UK – 4 PM in the UK
– 1 PM in Europe – 5 PM in Europe

By the way, the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Special Edition remains available on GameStop. You can find that listing here.
The Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle has generated over $1 million in payments, according to the official site. Over 100,537 purchases have been made thus far. The average purchase is of nearly $10.
More games will be added to the Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle tomorrow for those who have paid more than the average. We’ll let you know which ones those are as soon as they are announced.
At the end of last month, Japanese developer Delta Arts closed its doors. The studio’s website was just recently updated with a notice about the situation, and is devoid of any other content.
Delta Arts was tied to Nintendo games having worked on some of the recent entries in the Medabots series. They jumped into the series starting with the DS generation.
Super Meat Boy was confirmed for a May 12 release on the European Wii U eShop a few days ago. An announcement sent out today reveals that the game will also be out in North America on the same day.
Super Meat Boy will cost $14 / £13 / €14 at launch, which is a 20 percent discount. It’s seeing a 20 percent discount until May 26.
Along with Super Meat Boy’s Wii U release date news, the announcement contained an interesting section which seems to tease a 3DS version. Here’s that relevant part of the press release:
Super Meat Boy launched in 2010 on Xbox 360 and PC, and was immediately labeled as a definitive work in the sub-genre of brutally difficult platformers. Since then, gamers all over the world have been waiting to play it on other platforms. It was finally released on PS4 and Vita last year and with the Wii U version arriving this month, only the 3DS will be missing (but maybe not for too long ;)) Gotta catch them all!

Update: Here’s a trailer for shiny Xerneas and shiny Yveltal as well as Zygarde:
Two more Pokemon distributions are happening later this month. Between May 11 and May 17, shiny Xerneas will be distributed in North America. The same goes for shiny Yveltal between May 20 and May 26. Both are being offered via the Nintendo Network.
We should also mention that the Zygarde distribution ends on May 8 in North America. In Europe, it’ll close on May 26.
